en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAG_(video_game)Think of it as MW2 without the campaign. Save for the fact that it can have a max of 256 players in a single battle. We're talking MASSIVE scale fights. Vehicles, air strikes, parachuting. All kinds of fun. So if anyone's getting it, post here. Let's go to WAR!!!

Haven't looked at anything about this game.. But I've heard about it. I'll for sure look into it, and possibly pick it up.. I get hard for multiplayer games, so this game sounds pretty good.

I'll most likely pick this up for sure but as of right now, my priorities gaming wise stand at:
1) Final Fantasy XIII 2) God of War III 3) Heavy Rain
I'm also thinking of Bioshock 2 and Splinter Cell: Conviction but MAG is in there for sure.

Very much interested in the game. Haven't seen any official reviews for it yet. Which is what I'm looking for just to see if its worth picking up. At the very least. I'll at least rent the game one of these days. .

Some of this sounds too good to be true, I hope that the size of the game means the lag is compensated for. If it delivers on what it says then the game should be great.

If you like the idea of a no story attached 1st person shooter with MASSIVE and EPIC battles, you owe it to yourself to pick up MAG, trust me. If you've played MW2 to death, MAG will be a welcomed changed. Leveling up is similar, but a little more complicated as you need skill points to upgrade your weapons and physical attributes (Such as running faster and further, being able to drop from far heights and take less damage, and increasing your overall health). But once you get past level 15, that's where the game seriously earns it's stripes.
As for lag, there is none. None whatsoever. In the many hours of gameplay I've logged, I haven't experienced any. What I will warn you all is this...if you go into this game with the MW2 mentality, you're going to get killed. Frequently. The basis of the game is TEAM warfare. And there is no "I" in team. Fighting in a group is your best chance of survival. I watch people who are not in my clan run around and get butchered left and right, meanwhile we hit our mission objectives within minutes.

I'm thinking about getting it, I liked MW2 but the very noobish playstyle that many of the players has turned me off of it slightly. My only concern is that S.V.E.R. seems to be steamrolling everyone and everyone is joining them.

This is why I'm going to actually join another faction when I get the game, most likely the American one-forgot their name. Hopefully I'll be able to build up a decent clan with them as well.

If I get it, Raven seems to be the team I would want to join. The one you want is Valor X

Then I've already got my squad name set up.
AMW-Agents of Modern Warfare
That'll also be my clan name for when I get my own copy of MW2. Only two weeks before my tax return comes in, and I can't wait...lol.

For the record, the reason why SVER pretty much wins about 70% of the rime, is because unlike Raven or Valor, we pretty much play as an army. We fight in packs, which if I'm not mistaken is the premise of the game. People get fooled by the fancy looking weapons Raven and Valor have and think it gives them some form of edge, and it doesn't. If you play the game thinking it's MW2, you die...plain and simple. And a VAST majority of people do exactly that. SVER holds 2 out of the 3 contracts for each game mode, Sabotage, Acquisition and Domination. That doesn't happen because we have numbers, because we actually don't. It happens because we're a figurative and literal pack of wolves. You'll never find us (at least the clan I'm part of Cold Blooded Killers [CBK], which is damn near 100 strong) solo. We run as a group, which makes outflanking us impossible. You might kill 2 or 3 of us, but you've got 8 others right behind them who will pound you into the dirt. Once Raven and Valor get the organization we have, people won't complain as much. I myself have been part of 43 major wins for SVER, as opposed to only 8 major defeats. 7 battles I've had as a Squad Leader, all of them I won. Numbers and luck have nothing to do with it when the faction as a whole is a well oiled machine.

Don't buy into the SVER is "Uber-leet and are the only skilled PMC" that most SVER players put out. Choose the faction you want to join.
SVER is more the downtrodden and oppressed third world PMC using mostly old Soviet arms. Has the advantage of more powerful CQC weapons and close quarters in their levels.
Valor is the dyed in the wool veteran PMC. They are more gung ho using standard issue US weapons. Thier levels are more open then either Raven or SVER
Raven is the faction with the cutting edge tech. Based out of Austria, they have a very euro feel to them. Their weapons are accurate but have the lowest stopping power of all three factions.
I chose Raven, it just seemed to fit my style more then the other two. Choosing a faction should be more about personal taste then "Who is better."
