I've jumped to SVER and it's just as bad as Raven. people just running everywhere killing first without thought to the objective. I don't know if it's just bad luck on my part that I keep getting paired with fucking idiots or what. You get paired with idiots...lol. You can tell the skilled players from the n00bs. The skilled guys are the guys who will swarm to objectives, the n00bs are the ones who run around looking for something to shoot. Goes both ways. I've played matches where the opposing force didn't even bother trying to get the objective because they were running around the map trying to get kills. Just keep at it, move up the ranks, and you'll find the REAL MAG players eventually. Everyone who I've friended since starting are skill players. So most of the time when I go into a battle, I'm not alone. I'll be in a group of people who play to win. |

I'll be at a buddies place from tonight - tuesday. He's got a PS3, and hopefully he either buys MAG outright, or rents it. He works at FUTURE SHOP (huge electronics store in Canada) as a CPU salesmen. Rakes in HUGE $$$, so I'm counting on him to enhance my weekend with some MAG lol.

I just realized that I can only promote people that are already in the clan, not add people to it. The clan leader has to do it, but he's a really cool dude (hence I play with him a lot), so I let him know I got some new recruits ready for action.

A couple of times I have wanted to strangle people for moving APCs I parked in good spawn locations in Acquisition attacking Raven.

That's because idiots think it's a tank, and it's not. Once it gets destroyed, you have to respawn all the way back at camp, which is a ways off from any objectives. That's the reason why I let everyone know up front that I'm driving the APC. I'll park it close enough to the objective for everyone to hit it in force, but far enough so that the enemies don't blow it up.

Being former Raven I have a good idea how to beat them at their own game but people don't seem to listen when attacking the front gate. They just attack the gate and get slaughtered when the better idea is to simply destroy the two bunkers behind the gates then the gate.

lol, I was also playing Borderlands...
But ya, home now, and the arsenal of games stays with
MW2, SDVR2010 (putting together roster for online sim-fed with friend) and hopefully L4D2 seeing as I only did the 1st mission...then abandoned it for MW2

So the present status of MAG has greatly changed in the last couple weeks. Valor as it would seem has picked up steam, and started putting the pressure on SVER. SVER is still firmly in control with 4 contracts as opposed to Valor and Raven only having 3, but Valor is threatening to unseat Raven in one of their contacts, which would give them 4 as well, leaving Raven with a meager 2 contracts.
So the huge issue in the community now is the steady decline of Raven. They're supposed to be the "tech" PMC, yet they're totally unskilled and unorganized. You have clans within Raven and individual players who are good, don't get me wrong. But as a whole, Raven is getting destroyed by Valor and SVER. Valor's recent boom in success comes on the heals of a lot of SVER veterans (players over level 60) switching PMCs and joining Valor. Thus, they effectively know how to fight on SVER maps. This has made for some REALLY interesting battles. There's still a commanding SVER presence however, a lot of SVER players...such as myself, have opted to stay with SVER exclusively until the only trophies we need to get platinum is the trophy for leveling up a level 60 Raven and Valor soldier. And the way the trophies are structured is that you have to get a certain number of medals and badges in game to unlock a trophy. Bottom line, we're gonna be SVER for some time.
As I predicted, especially with the patch that was released yesterday, things are improving. It's no longer one-sided thrashings being handed out by SVER. The only problem is the decline of Raven and it's lack overall of skilled MAG players, which hurts them BADLY.
