He walked through the hallway, approaching the office of the boss lady who was supposed to be in charge of this place. Dante came dressed in his best ironed black and red suit. Black jacket, black slacks, red button up shirt, black tie, and black wingtip shoes were what made up his appearance. He couldn't forget the pitch black shades on his face. Never left home without them. He stopped at the door that read: 'President of the XWA, Carmella Blackheart.' He breathed in and let out a small sigh. He needed to just act casual. Dante didn't need to psyche himself out. It's been quite awhile since he's looked for employment again. It's been even longer since he's stepped foot into the squared circle. He had been on tour with his band 'The Night,' but they were going to be on hiatus for a little while. Dante didn't know how long this hiatus was going to take, but he wasn't going to sit around doing nothing. What was he going to do with all that free time? Heading back into the wrestling business seemed like a good idea. He could be himself again finally. Hopefully this goes better than the last time he had tried this.
"You can do this, Dante. You can do this." He said to himself. Trying to get his confidence up. He didn't want to come off as suspicious. He certainly didn't want to cause her to think he was a freak. He just needed to knock on the door and be confident.
He lifted his white gloved hand up and balled it into a fist. Knock, knock... knock, knock, knock... knock, knock...

"Is she not here?" ...Dante thought to himself, recieving no answer from his knocks on her door.
Should he try to just barge on in? He did knock. It's not like he would be out of line for checking to see if the door was unlocked and letting himself in. Dante didn't exactly want to make a bad impression of himself to the boss. He did need to ask her a very strange question during a meeting with her. That was probably going to be enough to cause her to give him funny looks. Perhaps he did not knock loud enough? She could be taking a phone call right now and did not hear him knocking. He figured he should go the less confrontational way and knock once again to see if she really was in her office. He raised a fist up to the door once again and gave it a few more knocks with his knuckles.
"Ms. Blackheart?" Dante called for her from outside the office door.

Business was pretty well...busy. Between new signings and "damage control" that had to be done, Carmella was pretty well occupied. Then news reached her computer via e-mail that two contracted superstars had gotten into a bar room brawl earlier in the week, and ironically they were Diamonds and not men.
Needless to say, there was a heavy amount of legal rousing that had to be done to prevent a lawsuit from said bar for damaged incurred.
In all the business, Carmella was a little oblivious to the knocking on her door. Candice was on her lunch break apparently, otherwise the visitor wouldn't been called in. But...she didn't have any scheduled appointments for the hour strangely enough. Who could this be?
Come in?

Success. She was in. Dante entered the office of Ms. Blackheart. To his surprise, she seemed to be quite the youthful boss. He wasn't exactly expecting to see someone who looked like her. He figured that the woman would have been a little older, but that was probably just his expectation that anyone in a high position of power must have spent years to get to that point. Although, he should be talking... With as old as he is... And the youthful appearance he has on the outside... Dante just smiled and nodded his head to the lady. He greeted her with...
"Greetings, Ms. Blackheart."
He extended a hand out to her.
"I'm Dante Cervantes."

There was something extremely different about this man. For the most part, the people who walked through her door are either nervous, cocky, confused, maybe a little scared of what to expect. But this one...from the outset...seemed to be quite confident. Very straightforward. As simple as it sounds, it's quite unique.
She accepts the gesture of greeting and shakes his hand.
Well then, what can I do for you Mr. Cervantes?

"My business here is simply."
He reached up to his face and grabbed the glasses from his face. Dante figured it would only be polite to make eye contact with the woman if they were going to discuss business. He slipped the black shades into his pocket and looked back to Ms. Blackheart with his crimson stare. The calm smile never leaving his face as he continues...
"I've heard that you're looking for some new talent to join the ranks of your Xtraordinary Wrestling Association. I happen to be looking for a new place to exercise my combat skills. I figure... What better place than the XWA...? Would I be correct that you are searching for 'xtraordinary' warriors to do battle in your colosseum? Or have my ears decieved me?"

Well, you're right about a few things. I am looking for a few good men...and women for that matter. If it's exercising your skills you're looking for, you picked a good place.
Straightforward yet again, and quite dignified was Cervantes' approach. Almost as if he was from a whole different era altogether. How many people do you know who use words like "do battle" and "coliseum" after all?
I have to admit though, I don't get too many people who come to me without a little scouting on my company's behalf. Just what skills do you have, Mr. Cervantes? You seem to look more like a gentleman than a warrior...
There was something...different about him. She just couldn't figure out what.

"Ah, yes. Looks can be decieving, Ms. Blackheart. You can't always judge a book by it's cover."
He raised a white gloved hand up with his index finger extended. Shaking it from side to side slightly before lowering it back down to his side. She was correct in her assumption of him being a gentleman, but these eyes have witnessed countless years of bloodshed. Some of it by his own hands, some of it by the hands of men. He was no stranger to the subject.
"A gentleman? Yes. A warrior? We are one in the same. I'm just not one of those mindless beasts who go charging in with their battle axe raised high and swing at anything to prove they're the most glorious thing on this planet. Underneath this suit beats the heart of both a lover... And a fighter... The two can be considered one in the same. How could you love someone, if they were not worth fighting for?"
He posed the question with a slight tilt of his head. Dante was merely trying to prove a point. He did not seem like the kind of guy who would engage in such violent activities, but he would prove them wrong.
"The skills I possess are genuine. You give me the opportunity, and I promise I will not disappoint. I have done battle once before in the ring prior to my coming to this company. It has been quite awhile since that day, but I assure you... There is no rust to be found on my being."

Hmmm...Cervantes...
She scratches her chin, thinking. She had heard of that name before.
Ah, yes. I remember now. I had quite a few sources in Detroit giving me information about that wrestling company that operated there for a while. As I recall now, you were on that roster, right?
Seems a little coincidental that a few days ago I had a meeting with someone else from there, who's now on the XWA roster as well. I don't know if you're acquainted with Ms. Creighton, but now's as good a time as any since you'll be co-workers of sorts.
Now it was coming together. A woman like her never undermines the importance of information. She had scouts all over the wrestling "world". Eyes and ears from Toronto, to Michigan and even Ohio at points in time, all the vigilant to gather intel. All it took was a little back-tracking in her mind, and she knew now who this man was.
I suppose it's hard getting that thirst for battle out of your system when you've done it for a long time. I don't see any reason not to grant you the chance you're asking for.

"Someone might need to be fired because you're information is about half right."
That smile returned to his face. He was just joking about the firing. His crimson eyes still focused on the boss of XWA. It was a small mistake. Nothing to really ax anyone over. He did remember hearing the name 'Creighton' from somewhere before, but it wasn't in Detroit that he could recall. If he did see her in Detroit, it might have been at a "The Night" concert. That is, if she was into his kind of music.
"If you fly 237 miles from Detroit to Chicago, you'll hit the mark on the spot. As far as knowing Ms. Creighton... I don't recall ever meeting her, but she certainly was in Chicago for a spell as well. The name rings a bell. I can't exactly put a name to it. All in all, what you said does still stand."
He nodded his head. It was great that she was welcoming him with open arms, but now it was time to ask that most awkward of questions that he feared.
"I do have one question and one request regarding my employment. How is the health plan for your employees?"

Health program?
Carmella took a pen from a holder sitting on some random point on her desk and wrote a memo to herself. "Fire Detroit Scout." Then she replies to Dante's interesting question.
You're the first person to ever ask about benefits on the job. XWA has the most comprehensive Health & Wellness Program in the business. All competitors are checked up on a regular basis with random testing taking place by some of the best doctors around. I assure you that anyone who was even rumored of intake improper chemical substances, be they steroids, cannibus or otherwise, is no longer in the XWA.
Call me curious, but why do you ask Mr. Cervantes?

"That is great to hear, Ms. Blackheart. The reason I ask is..."
Dante proceeded to remove the white gloves from his hands. Then he placed them in the front pocket of his jacket. He lifted one of his hands up to his face so that the boss could see. He has done his research above some of the ailments that humans are prone to in this day and age. Dante did need to make this human mask of his be believable. Back in his day, they didn't nearly have the medical care or the knowledge to diagnose the many illnesses we know about today. The mortality rate had to have been pretty high from what he could remember. But he stood there with his cold and pale hand next to his cold and pale face.
"I have a condition. My complexion doesn't come from a lack of tanning, nor is it from being a recluse hiding away from the sun. I have been diagnosed with Anemia. My red blood cells and the hemoglobin in my blood has become scarce. It leaves me looking quite ill and it can prove to be problematic. The method treatment that I have become accustomed to is recieving frequent blood transfusions."
He lowered his hand back to his side and proceeded to slip his gloves back on. It may not be the complete and honest truth, but it was something that has worked in the past before. The blood transfusions do help to take care of a certain ailment of his, but it certainly wasn't the one he has presented before Ms. Blackheart. It was simply a way to calm his hunger pains and protect the rest of the employees in the company. How could he explain portraying the character he had planned to present to the fans if someone were to come up missing or found deceased with bite marks in their throat? Blaming it on wild animals certainly wouldn't work in this concrete jungle. Dante continued while he did so...
"I've been told that it will not inhibit my ability to perform, Ms. Blackheart. I just need to make sure I keep recieving these treatments, but medical help does not come cheap."

Well, that's...different.
The word that really came to mind was "unique". There was a whole lot about Cervantes that she found to be unique in fact.
There shouldn't be a problem then. I don't know the meaning of the word "expensive". I will see to it that your requests are fulfilled by our medical specialists then. Thank you for bringing that up now, Mr. Cervantes...we wouldn't want any unpleasant surprises out there, now would we?
I will be sure to make that a contractual provision for you. Is there anything else now? If not, then we can get your signature on the dotted line and make this official.

"No, would not."
He cracked that kind smile of his at the boss. Unpleasant surprises? There should be none, if everything goes as planned. There was the chance that an opponent make have an unfortunate accident in the ring and they could begin leaking blood all over the mat. Things might get messy. Dante will have to be strong willed when he's out there. He nodded his head and said...
"I believe that will be all, Ms. Blackheart. I'm not like some of those prima donnas I've heard so much about making ridiculous requests and demands. I only look to have a clean bill of health in order to entertain the fans and show you that I'm more than just a gentleman. Show me where to sign and we can start what some would call a b-e-a-utiful relationship."
This was going along a lot smoother than he had originally thought. Dante thought the whole needing blood thing would have turned the boss off to signing him, but she seemed to be willing to make her employees reasonably happy.

Presented to Cervantes then is the contract, with all the usual provisions.
I wholly believe this will be a good relationship. Just sign and initial in the places specified and you'll be all set. I'll personally see that your special request is granted as an additional provision of this contract, as promised.
