If we use 2010 that WILL need to be banned, that will have to be an all or nothing ability. We can pretty let everyone know that there's a 90% chance we're going current gen for season 4. All that remains within the 10% is all the stuff that's yet to be released about the game, but will obviously be supplied within the next month and a half. Myself, 3X and the rest of staff are putting together the gameplan now, of which will be revealed in full and in detail to everyone the moment this season ends. Once we have the game our gameplay team (Myself, 3X & Jasta) will be spending time breaking it down like we've done in years past, weeding out what we can use and what we can't, some of which will be abilities. All of the banned abilities from 2009 will carry over into 2010, and any abilities such as Fire Starter that need to be added to the list will be. We have a full proof plan for the 2010 (For PS3 users at least) that will be revealed at seasons end as well.

Oooh.... Current-Gen... It's gotta be an advantage for PS3 users then to get your own custom logos on the CAWs due to the DL systems, which is cool. I'm sure that a few of us would volunteer to help convert 360'er custom images over as well if needed.

And... can we see the source on that multi-position CAF deal? All I've been seeing is diving / front.

There's no video of it yet. But there's a thread over on gamingring.com that goes into detail. 3X is the one who informed me of it, so he'd be the one to approach for the link.

I'm not going to speculate yet. Gamingring sometimes gets things wrong. We'll wait and see what as we learn more.

A) Moved this thread to the just now created 2010 Prep board.
B) There's now an official list of abilities for the game. New ones are in and some old ones are out.
1) Dirty Pin (Feet are now on the top rope) 2) Evasive Dodge 3) Lock Pick 4) Ref Sheild 5) Move Theft 6) Taunt Theft 7) Hammer Throw 8) Object Specialist 9) Resiliency (Applies now for submissions as well) 10) Durability 11) Hardcore Ressurection 12) Kip-Up 13) Fan Favorite 14) Outside Dives 15) Springboard Dives 16) Possum Pin New Abilities 17) Fired Up (3 Finishers in a row) 18) Ring Escape (Able to leave the ring while knocked down) 19) Exploder TB Attack (Able to jump on opponent whose on the TB and do a grapple move) 20) Pull Back Attacks (Use irish whip to pull your opponent into a strike or grapple) 21) Strong Strike (A powerful strike)
Removed Abilities 1) Bloodshed 2) Cage Match 3) KO 4) Ladder Match 5) Submission 5) Table Match
I can tell you right now that we're probably not using Fired Up here, and Resiliency will remain reserved for the Xtraordinaires, if it's used at all.

The wording for 19) Exploder TB Attack (Able to jump on opponent and do a grapple move) confuses me a little. How is that supposed to work?

Only one that was removed that should of stayed is Bloodshed. List looks really good and that exploder TB attack looks rather interesting.

I wouldn't be surprised to see exploder be like Punk's knee attack or Kofi's Koronco buster, things like that...

Whoever posted it wasn't too specific. It's the ability to jump an opponent who is on the turnbuckle and counter with a grapple move. Basically, the same as if you rush someone on the TB with a move and knock them down, except now apparently its it's own dedicated tactic. Hit or miss for XWA IMHO.
And oh yes, Finishers now have a window of usage...meaning if you max your momentum, you have a set amount of time to use them. If an opponent counters one, it doesn't nullify your momentum. It only resets when the window of time expires or when you successfully perform your finisher. I guess that means countering a finisher doesn't instantly max your momentum either.

For the Exploder TB, thats what I expected actually. I wanna see the animation for it though.

I read somewhere I think it was Gamingring that if you do your signature you get the chance to do your finisher right away after that.

That would be kind of cool, like a 1-2 combo.

Yeah...if that's possible then the Rope Escape ability would come in handy seriously. Anytime you're in trouble or you get hit with a big move close to the ropes, you could slide out and avoid being pinned. If it's later on in a match where things can go either way, that's a huge chance to regain an advantage.
And while I will miss Bloodshed the most, it makes sense that they removed it. Getting "busted open" in wrestling is supposed to be the worst possible thing to happen in a match, not a catalyst to "hulk out". I admittedly put Kip-Up an Bloodshed on a few CAWS because it's two free momentum boosts a match, barring they use them correctly. The current list of abilities though is very good. We'll just see which ones are effective in simmed matches.

Found out what TB Exploder is, it's basically jumping onto the top rope and doing a move off as a counter like Shelton or Angle.
2:22 to 2:26
That pull back attack sounds cool IMO.
