Velvet wanders the streets. Not because she's lost. She's been throughtout New York about a thousand times if not more. It was were she grew up. But she wasn't all that happy to be back home but it was still a job so she took it.
After wandering around a bit she went to her usual cafe. Everyone still knew her even though she had changed her look a little. She accepted it and went to a corner in the back hoping that if her family still lived in New York they either wouldn't come here or wouldn't see her.
Waitress: Hi. Long time no see. Let me guess. A regular burger with...a diet pepsi?
Velvet smiles so not to be rude. She hated to be recognized though.
Even after all these years it's nice to know that someone can remember what an old friend likes.
Eventually Velvet's order comes. She takes her time though thinking about all of her memories in this city and how her life has changed. As she's eating she can't help but get the feeling that someone is watching or is about to approach her.

Ryan was still hungry. That donut he got a little bit ago didn't cut it, and that coffee was shit. So he made his way to a new location, and opened up the door. When inside, he looked around. No one. This place was almost as silent as the last. He walks up to the counter, and takes a quick look at the menu.
How about a large root beer?
The girl at the cash register smiles, and responds.
That'll be one dollar please.
Ryan grins, reaches into the pocket of his black hoodie and places the dollar bill on the counter. She picks it up, and places it into the cash register.
Take a seat, sir. We'll bring you your beverage.
He nods, and turns to observe the scene. It was a very nice and clean place. There were two tables somewhat occupied. One contained an old couple, and the other had a young girl. The girl looked to be about the same age as Ryan. He shrugged, might as well try and make a new friend, right? He walks over to her table, weaving in and out of random tables.
Is the seat across from you occupied?

Velvet breathes a sigh of relief. It wasn't her family.
I'm not going to stop you and neither will anyone else so go ahead and take a seat.
Velvet takes a sip of her diet pepsi before taking only her third bite out of the burger waiting to see what this man would do. Something about him looked familiar to Velvet although she couldn't place her finger on what it was.

Ryan sits across from her. Something about her made her seem familiar, just like something about him made her get a familiar feel. He'd seen her somewhere before. Maybe it was from wandering the streets?
Hey. I'm Ryan..
Have you ever had the feeling you knew something, like a song, and couldn't put your finger on it? Then it bothers you for hours on end until you figure it out? Ryan had this feeling.

Velvet smiles more out of politeness and curiosity. Maybe if she was as polite as she could be she could figure out where she knew him from.
Hi, I'm Velvet. Is it just Ryan or is there something after it?
Velvet's curiosity was definitly captured. She absolutly had to figure out what she could about him so that it didn't bother her in the future.

She thinks she knows who it is but to be sure she needs one question answered before the games can begin.
Is XWA your first fed or have you been in other places?

XWA my first federation? *He laughs a little* No. I've fought here in New York before, I've also been in Ohio and Atlanta. I like New York's wrestling atmosphere the most, though. It's probably the best state to wrestle in America. However, it doesn't rank up with Japan, Mexico or Canada.
Hmm.. This could be going somewhere.
What about you, are you just starting off? This your first time?

Bingo! That was all she needed to know who he was. She guessed that he didn't recognize her which wasn't surprising. Her mentor maybe but not her.
No, this is my first fed that I've wrestled in. I'm kinda nervous about making my debut but I'm gonna guess that's a feeling everyone gets when they first start out. Would you happen to have any tips on how to reduce the nervousness if not get rid of it completely.
A lie it may be but it should work since he didn't recognize her. There was only one person to her knowledge that would recognize her and she hoped he wasn't anywhere near where she was.

Kill the nervousness... Hmm..
He didn't get nervous often, so he wasn't sure what to say.
The anxiety's typical. What I do is listen to music loud on my iPod and sit alone and think. I don't know why, but just thinking about life gets my mind off anything. Maybe you should try it, it might help you out. Also, if you decide to think, you might come up with a game plan. That's a good thing.
Wait a second.....
Velvet? The Velvet that was trained by Maniac? Now I know where I seen you.

Crap. Velvet needed to come up with a lie fast and a good one. She didn't like to be recognized. She thought that maybe the new attire was enough but apparently not. She remains calm while she answers.
You must have me mistaken for someone else. My full name is Jessica Velvet. I did amatuer wrestling my entire time for school so I didn't train with anyone. I'm sorry if you were looking for someone else.
Velvet knows that lieing is not a good thing but she felt like she needed to here. Luckily the name she gave was in fact her real name. She takes a sip of diet pepsi hoping that Ryan bought the lie.

Oh?
He knows he isn't wrong, but it seems like she wants to play a game.. And he can play it back.
So.. Jessica.. Or Velvet, which ever you prefer. You were born and raised here in New York, yes?

Velvet a little shocked but grateful that he bought the lie responds calmly.
Prefer Velvet. Too many Jessicas in New York City. My last name though isn't so common. And yeah, I was raised in New York City. Not the greatest times of my life but at least I'm finally starting to really succeed.
Velvet lowers her head as she finsihes off her burger, feeling a little guilty about lieing to Ryan. He seemed like a nice guy and here she was lieing to his face about something as little as who she really was.

Clunk. The waitress places Ryan's root beer on the wooden table. He looks at it. Jeez, the lady didn't even get him a straw. It would have been different if it was a glass or a mug, but it was just a cup with a lid, and a hole for where the straw SHOULD be.
So, Velvet... Where did you get your training? Oh, and do you have any questions for me? I'd hate for you to have the feeling like this is a interview.
Take the bait.. Take the bait.. ;D

Velvet just calmly replies to Ryan Blaze having kept her happy face.
I got my training in high school by the coach of my school's wrestling team. I doubt you've heard of him but his full name was Scott Manor. He taught me everything I know and I plan on making him proud and eventually becoming the Diamond Champion.
But let's talk about you since you appear to be much more interesting. You said you wrestled in many places. Did you just burst into the scene with no practice or were you trained by someone with experience?
Velvet is more than eager to turn the conversation away from herself but manages to pretend that she doesn't care too much what the conversation is about.
