-:-He had gotten his match for the next show. It was one of the items that was on his checklist for the week. The match was going to be at the next Showdown in which he will be facing another newcomer to the XWA, Nick Jones. He had left the ring and had already begun his walk backstage in the XWA Building. He was somewhat beat and decided that he would just chill out for a bit. Thoughts of different places came to mind instantly, but he didn’t want to actually walk anywhere or get a cab considering he didn’t buy a car yet. Then he decided that he would hit up the Lounge that was on top of the Penn Plaza. He heard that it was a great place to relax and meet some new people. He knew this was the place where he wanted to go.-:-
-:-Progressing down the hall, he reached the elevator that would take him to the top of the building. He pushed the up arrow with his right index finger and took a step back as he waited for the opens to slide open. Moments later the doors had open and Jeff had stepped inside. He pushed the button that indicated the top floor and the doors tightly shut. The elevator began to rise as it passed the floors above. Soon enough he had reached the Lounge area. Nice place it was with a full bar and a café along with it. Right now he wasn’t in the mood for a drink or any food. He walked passed the bar and café and walked up the stairs where there had been tables and couches spread around. He walked to the nearest couch and tossed his body onto it. He lay there to relax. Not to fall asleep but to relax for the time being.-:- |

-:-A deep breath is taken from Jeff and he abruptly wakes up. He had told himself that he wouldn’t fall asleep but he ended up doing that. He was now awake and sitting up on the couch. The couch was so comfortable that he had fallen asleep even though he never wanted to. He shakes his head side to side quickly and stands up from the seat. He rubs his eyes and walks down the stairs toward the café area. He sat down at a table and waited for a waiter or waitress to come take his order. Soon enough a waitress came walking toward the table which he sat at.-:-
“Only you sir tonight?”
“I’m afraid so, but it’s all right. I’m not complaining.”
“What can I get for ya?”
“I’ll just have a cappuccino and a bagel with cream cheese.”
“It’ll be right up.”
-:-The waitress closes he booklet and walks away from Jeff. He begins looking around the café area as he waited. The area was well designed. He sat and continued to wait for his cappuccino and bagel.-:- |

XXL steps into the Lounge for the first time. Yeah he heard about it once or twice...decided to check the place out, and it was pretty impressive. Then again, if it was the brainchild of one Carmella Blackheart and or Rodolphe Gallas, it had to be elegant, those two only new top class and top quality.
"Greetings, Mr. Luther...welcome to the XWA Lounge", says the conceirge. "What can we do for the National Champion?"
Heh Heh, I like the service here already. Lemme sit a spell and see what's up.
"Very well, follow me."
He obliges and follows the woman to an empty table right next to some guy who was sitting by himself.
"Right here, Mr. Luther."
Taking a seat, he picks up a menu...
Let's see what kinda grub they got up in here...

-:-The waitress comes back with the cappuccino and the bagel and places it on the table before Jeff. Jeff thanks her and nods his head to her. Right away he takes a sip of the cappuccino. Not only did the café have a great facility but it had great cappuccinos on top of it. Jeff then took a bite out of his bagel and began to chow down on his meal. As he is eating he sees a rather large man step into the lounge area and was seated at the table next to Jeff. Jeff thought it was someone he knew but couldn’t make him out. Then it came straight to his head. The man was Xander Xavier Luther, the XWA National Champion. He finishes what he had in his mouth and took another sip from his drink. He then turned his focus over to XXL.-:-
“Aren’t you Xander Xavier Luther? No wait don’t answer that I know that you are. Who doesn’t know the XWA National Champion? Even though I wasn’t a wrestler yet, I saw you win that match. Man you owned there Mr. Luther. Oh the names Jeff Rayne, one of the newest addition here to the XWA.” |

He looks over and nods to Rayne.
Well, the front office knows how to take care the personnel that's for sure. Thanks for the kinds words, too...just doing my job actually. Somebody's gotta hold it down for the big men, you know?

“Yeah I know what you mean. You have to do what you have to do and for sure you did that. It is the people who give it their all in a match who eventually ends up winning it. Now Mr. Luther I got a question for you. How would you go about making an impact here in the XWA as a beginner?” |

Xander sets down the menu for a second...
Well, that's a good question right there, cuz we got a few new guys here who've already made quite and impact like O'Dell and Ames, especially after that last match on TakeDown...Osiris Alston too, he's got potential...even if I already whipped his ass, ha ha...
You just gotta go out there and do you're thing...on the mic, in the ring, wherever. It's all about the showmanship...getting the crowd into you. Don't matter if you're good or bad, if you got the fans poppin' you're already on your way.
Gotta be interesting...nobody's gonna pay mind to you if all you're about is "I challenge you to a match", know what I'm saying?

“Yeah man I hear you out. I know what you are saying.”
-:-Jeff takes a quick sip of his cappuccino and turns back toward XXL.-:-
“That is true what you were saying about how you can’t make an impact by just walking down to the ring and saying that you want a match and that’s it. You got to show the fans and the staff and everyone in the back what you’re really made of. Good answer you gave me there. Now I know what I can do around this place. One more thing, I know you want to order and get some food. Do you mind helping me out around here as in show me the ropes, like be a mentor or someone to just help me out? I mean this is my first major organization I’m wrestling in. If you don’t it’s all good.” |

Ha! If I said no, what example would that be setting? I'm a champ after all...that means that I have to carry a bit more responsibility. I might be the World Champ, but that makes no difference. Anytime you need some advice or something...come and see me, I know a guy who could show you a few things too...hell, he helped me out coming up myself. This is only my second year in the game...guys been doing it for about three or four.
"Ready to order, Mr. Luther?"
Ah...yeah, lemme get some of these pancakes and some beef sausage on the side with a glass of OJ.
"Right away..."

-:-Finally Jeff had someone who would help him out to get started in the business. He finishes his bagel and begins drinking his cappuccino once again. He places the cup back down.-:-
“I appreciate that Mr. Luther. Thanks for helping me out in the business. It is hard for being your first year as a major wrestler. It’s my rookie year, no matter, I know with you helping me out I can make it a great rookie year.”
-:-Jeff waits as he watches XXL order his food. It would have been rude if he kept talking and not the man order his food.-:-
“Nice choice of food there by the way. That’s is some good stuff. Hey I got a match at the next Showdown against another rookie named Nick Jones. You got any tips for the rookie?” |

Well, I ain't seen the guy yet...heck I haven't even seen you in action, so the most I can say for starters is for you to go out there and put it down for the fans...show 'em what you can do, and then we'll take it from there. I'll be watching to see what's up...

"Alright nice those sound good to me. I'll be sure to put on a show for the XWA fans believe that. Alright since your food will be here any second I'll let you be. I'm just gunna chill out and drink my cappuccino and possibly order some more food."
