Washington DC isn't too far away from New York City, so when Sarah got a call from an old acquaintance in the president and CEO of the XWA, it was just a quick flight up to the Big Apple that brought her along. She was insisting that this was a big deal and such an exciting idea that Sarah had no choice pretty much but to at least take it into consideration in a sit down with Blackheart.
There she sat in this stylish and bustling Lounge within the XWA Corporate headquarters, wearing a white baby-t and her favorite pair of jeans with some white pumps. Sarah Warfield was never one to be too glamorous, she was always just a down-home, girl next door type who had been working too hard over the past 8 years to even think of such things. Nowadays she was enjoying a long-needed and well deserved hiatus from in-ring action after years touring the globe and helping to bring forth a new renaissance in women's wrestling, an accomplishment that this very company had a very big hand in making happen.
In the far off distance she sees that unmistakably deep red mane of hair entering the cafe and waves the lady over.
Carmella!!! Over here!

Carmella immediately makes her way over and greets Sarah with a hug. It's been a while since the two of them had spoken to each other, months before Carmella decided to make the bold move to open the XWA in fact. She was more than pleased that Sarah would take time out to pay her a visit.
I'm so glad you could make it Sarah. Like I told you over the phone, I have such a wonderful idea here that I had to tell you in person. Can I...get you a drink?

Sure thing, Mel...the usual actually. Club Soda with lime.
Same old Sarah Warfield. She was as wholesome as apple-pie. A living legend and such a role-model to girls and women alike with her positive outlook on life and her commitment to being physically and mentally fit. The two of them take seats at a table.
So what IS this great idea of yours then? I mean you've had so many thus far that it's obviously a big one if it's got you so excited. I'm really impressed by the way that you have made this place into such an amazing organization, Carmella...

There's no way that I can take all the credit for XWA's success. The work of Rodolphe Gallas has been invaluable for the league, and ofcourse the many men and women who go out there and do what they do so well for the fans have great deal to with it as well.
I'll have a Mojito myself, please...thank you.
I have been able to for the most let the place run itself this year with not too much need to step in and show my fangs. That's the sign of a great organization, when you have consummate professionals under your wing you can fly to immeasurable heights. Now I know that you've especially been impressed by the Diamond Division from what you told me...

Oh, absolutely!
Sarah responds with bright-eyed excitement.
I absolutely love those girls, Carmella. The Diamond Division is just amazing, simply amazing! There's so much beauty and talent up and down the roster here that it's no wonder why it's done so well. You know they're talking about the Diamonds all over the place Mel, from Ashley's rise to fame to Heather Fierhart's dominance to Kim Angelos' heart in the ring, even that Sumya-she's quite a character isn't she? Ha Ha...
Just imagine the fact that it can only actually get better from here! That's just an awesome thought to have.

Well, that's part of what it is that I wanted to talk to you about Sarah. I was wondering if you might be interested in becoming the GM, or should I say Commissioner of the Diamond Division here in the XWA. I think your own experience in the business could be such a tremendous asset to the girls, and Rodolphe...even though I know he can handle it, it'll take a bit off of his load as well you know? Let him focus on the guys because there are more of them out there than ladies.
She lays down the offer right as the waiter lays the drinks on the table...

Wow, you want me to...maintain the Diamond Division? Gee...I don't know Carmella, do you really think that I'm cut out for that kinda thing? I'm not a real business whiz like you are you know...
She picks up her club soda and takes drink.

Oh no, you don't need to know a thing about business honey! It's all about knowing about the sport that matters here, and there aren't many ladies out there who know as much as you do, Sarah. I think you'd be well respected by our girls, I know Amber would be just overjoyed knowing that you were around as well.
Having someone like you around I think would really raise the bar even higher than it already is. There are certain enough veterans here like Heather, Hayley and Kim Hunter also who would be more than happy knowing you were the woman in charge of things. The one thing that always impressed me about you more than anything Sarah was the fact that you've never once quit on yourself or on anything you've ever done. Right from the first time I saw you wrestle I knew that you were one of those who was going to bring respect back to women's wrestling here in the US.
You helped to do that Sarah and so have the XWA's Diamonds. Having those two things working together I agree with you 100% in saying that things WILL get better. Much, much better. Please, think it over more if you need to...

Another sip of her soda, and a smile.
You don't have to butter me up with compliments, Mel. I'll do it! If I didn't accept this offer it'd be like me turning my back on all it is that I've worked to hard to make happen, you know? This might not as physical a challenge as I'm used to, but it's a challenge nonetheless, and I think I'm up for it. Sign me up!

This great, Sarah. Just absolutely great! Thank you so much for this, my friend.
Carmella Blackheart is rarely the type to gush over things, but this was a very big thing in her eyes, and those big green eyes of hers were now sparkling bright with Sarah's acceptance of her offer.
We can introduce you during the last TakeDown of the season as a matter of fact, it's only right across the bridge in New Jersey. You don't have to worry about the particulars, I'll have my board of directors work out a generous contract for you. Is there anything else that you might want done?

Oh no no, not necessary Carmella. Since I'm here in town now I think I might pay a surprise visit to Amber, maybe have her take me to do some shopping. If I'm gonna be in nice cushy corporate position I better look the part right?

Now that's not necessary, Sarah. You can totally come as you are. You were always a "T-Shirt & Jeans" girl, don't even think about changing just for little old me. You be you, that's the reason why I called you here in the first place, so you can bring that passion of yours into the Diamond Division and let it rub off on the girls. Now, you already know who the new champ & #1 contender is right? I was thinking...
From that point they continued speaking over business and personal topics alike over drinks, like the old friends that they were catching up with each other's lives...
THE END
