The same office as before. The same desk. Same flags. And yes, the same John Smith, hands folded, with a proud smile on his face.
My fellow Americans...the XWA's Tribute To The Troops was indeed a very special spectacle to behold. To those men and women of the United States Armed Forces, and to all of you who let us into your homes to entertain you, on behalf of the entire XWA, I cordially thank you.
*Single nod*
But of course, what was entertainment for some, was revelation for others. And those I speak of are two men who represent all that wrong in our society. Men who have stolen. Men who have...hurt people, very badly in some cases. On that night, I gave those men a taste of their own medicine.
And I have to admit, I did get some great amount of satisfaction doing it.
You see, there are a lot of people out there who believe my actions were...a bit overzealous. To them I say that I merely demonstrated the exact same drive and initiative that has gained me corporate success. It was already a street fight. At least that's what I was led to believe. Kenji Katana and 187 were to hash out differences in nothing short of a brawl. And yet, these two men...men who I'm pretty sure are adept at the use of weapons, chose NOT to use them?
Hmph...it's rather awkward, don't you think? But yet, I'm the one who's called a hypocrite for kicking a chair into one man's face, and later slamming the other onto that chair so hard, it knocked him clean out. But yet...I'm the hypocrite?
No.
The fact of the matter is that if it were either of those men who did such a thing, you as the viewing public would just have taken it, and accepted it because "that's just who they are".
The fact of the matter, ye who questions my integrity is that YOU are the hypocrite.
You think that one who's cut from a certain mold has to act a certain way. Or do things in a certain manner. When the truth is, this is after all...America. The land of the free. Where a man can do whatever he so chooses to do, as long as it's within the parameters of the law. As long as it's...within the rules of the game. That's something I know very well. It's something Katana and 187 don't. They are rule breakers. They are LAW breakers. And yet, I...I am the one who's a low-down, dirty trickster because I did what I had to do to make my statement. And now, Katana wants what he considers to be a "fair" match against me at the XWA's season premiere show.
It all goes right back to my very first statement, about the manipulation of reality that is suffered upon these poor, misguided men and women of this industry, and the misconstrued mindset that they're in.
No worry though. For I'm John Smith. THE John Smith. And I will continue to do my service for *pointing at camera* you in opening their eyes...and yours, and injecting integrity into your lives so that you see the truth, and understand the truth, so that your lives may be better for it.
Yes I can, America.
Yes.
I.
Can.
