Embers had just signed with XWA and figured he'd do some running and then hit a club later that night to celebrate. He had been too late to join the Tribute To The Troops show, but he'd make the next event for sure. But for now, dressed in sweat pants and, hoodie, and some mitts he was running.
He got some glares and other dirty looks from people as he ran past, or in some cases between them leaping over park benches and other objects. He wasn't doing usual tricks he might attempt with the street being as crowded as it was, but he spotted an opening to try something.
Speeding up to a sprint, he used a park bench to push up and grab onto the edge of a building, unfortunately he couldn't get a grip and in a panic pushed off the building trying to make it back over the park bench. Unfortunately, he didn't get enough air and landed the absolute worst way one can on a park bench.
Suffering testicular trauma unlike any other, tears fill his eyes, while the queasy feeling happens immediately. Most people just continue on with their day either feeling he got what he deserved or are too busy trying to get out of the cold. Embers chooses to just lay on the ground trying to play it off as he just felt like laying down on a street in this city. The way he sees it, this is New York City. Surely stranger things have happened here. Surely stranger than a scrawny guy like him laying behind a bench which one leg up in the air leaning on it.

-Out on a jog of her own, Manami was dressed in a very similar outfit to Michael was but her's were a more feminine color. Running by the bench in question, Manami stops in front of it for a second to rest for a second. Even though she eliminated Jenna Slade with her new and as of yet unnamed finisher, Manami was disappointed in herself that she didn't win that battle royal at tribute to the troops. In her mind, she should have won. It should have been her hand raised in victory, not Marisol's. She spent all of the last off season training her ass off. Taking a seat on the bench, she thinks out loud.-
" I should have won, I should have been the one that got her hand raised in victory... "

Michael was still laying on the ground, when he heard Manami thinking out loud. He remained laying down as he spoke with a slightly higher and more raspy voice than usual.Losing blows, but at least you got to compete in whatever it was you competed in, whoever you are. Michael finally sits up with a groan. I had to sit out of a wrestling event because getting my contract in order slipped my mind. Yeah, his ass was cold, but it helped numb the pain.

-Hearing someone reply to her, Manami turns back at looks at who it was. Seeing a man sitting there in the snow, she raises an eyebrow and asks.- What are you doing sitting in a snow bank?

The million dollar question caused Michael to think for a moment about what to say. I'm watching the clouds and I like the cold. It gets the blood pumping and makes you want to do stuff. Even if it had some merit, it was a weak excuse, not that the truth was much better. So why aren't you bundled up like most people are? Doesn't seem like the smartest idea in this cold. Yeah like he had any room to speak.

-Replying quickly, she responds.- " I was going for a run and decided to take a quick rest. "

Michael stands up slowly using the bench to help him up. You know, most people would be in a warm gym running on a treadmill. He dusts off some snow. Doesn't XWA have a gym? Or is it not open or something like that? Or are you someone who just looks like someone who wrestles for XWA, who's name I have on the tip of my tongue?

- Watching him pick himself up, Manami replies.- " I wrestle for the XWA, and their gym is fine but sometimes I just need to run outside. My name is Manami by the way. "

I'm Michael. Just signed with XWA recently. Missed out on Tribute To The Troops though. Might have made it if paperwork weren't such a drag. But hopefully it'll be worth it. I hear XWA has some of the biggest guys around, literally.

-Smiling at the man, Manami replies.- " That kinda sucks, the even was pretty fun. Despite losing, I had a lot of fun preforming for the troops. By the way, it's nice to meet you Michael. "

Yeah, but I got the next event. Make my debut under XWA's banner leave an impact. Especially a guy my size. Anyways, I should probably head back to where I'm staying and change clothes before I get frostbite or something. Can only assume I'd get lectured for letting myself get frostbite if I missed a show due to it.

-Nodding, Manami replies.- Yeah, it is pretty cold out here... -Sort of taking a liking to this new guy, Manami asks totally on a whim.- Wanna maybe go out and get some coffee or something sometime? -Trying to cover her tracks, she adds quickly.- Not as a date or anything, just like as friends or something...

Michael thinks about it for a moment. I don't see why not. New York City doesn't seem like a drag, minus the cold. But I gotta go change now. I'll probably do a lot of running in this area so I'm sure I'll bump into you again. Michael turns to leave, but stops and turns back around. On second thought, you may want to give me a way to get a hold you so when I finally get me a cell again I can give you the number.

-Grabbing a pen out of her pants pocket, she kept it just in case a fan wanted a surprise autograph. Grabbing his hand, she writes her cell phone number down on his hand. " There you go, just call whenever you wanna get that cup of coffee. "

Michael glances at his hand real quick. Cool. I'll give you a call when I get a cell. Then you can tell me the cool spots to hit up here. Catch ya later. With that, Michael took off on a run heading to his place. Though he realized running was a bad idea making his pants, legs, and waist feel colder
