Away from the ring, one could say "backstage", XWA's roaming reporter Fabiola managed to catch John Smith after an emphatic debut victory, and there was a lot people were talking about. She got right to the heart of the matter though. The cameras were rolling for the web exclusive interview, and here's what was said.

This is Fabiola, backstage at the Tribute To The Troops for thexwa,net, and I'm here with XWA newcomer John Smith.
Earlier on in the broadcast, you were preaching "integrity" to the troops, the fans, and your opponents, yet you're the one who initiated a steel chair...a weapon...into the match. What do you have to say about that?
I had a feeling you were going to mention that. There's a couple of sayings that fit into what happened tonight. The first is one they say in Japan. "To defeat a devil, you must become one." Men like 187 and Katana are "devils" in their own respect. Men who would kill their own people, through their actions indirect or directly. They represent the violence...the senseless bloodshed...that plagues the inner cities of this country. Yes, they are demons that pull all those around them into their own private hell.
Which brings me to another phrase that came from this very sport we call professional wrestling. "Do unto others and they would do unto you...but do it to them first." You see, tactics like those I used tonight are not ones that would not be used by these men. Chairs, bats, pipes, bricks, bottles, knives, GUNS...you notice the progression there? They would use any weapon they can to destroy as they wish. I simply beat them to the punch. I gave them a taste of their own medicine. And besides...there was no disqualification in the match, so I operated within the rules.
{Fabiola}
Within the rules? That sounds like a loophole to me...
There should be no question about my integrity, because I in fact didn't do anything wrong. Not one single thing. Will I go to sleep tonight with a guilty conscience? You bet your cute little Cuban-American booty that I won't, Fabby.
Fabiola looks at the cameraman with a "Oh, I know this dude didn't just call me that" look in her eyes. In the name of "journalistic integrity" though, she allows the ranting to continue.
But, if either of those men, or anyone else for that matter still has an issue...then by all means, take it up with me directly and I'll be sure to "hammer down" my intentions so that there's no more second guessing or judgments to be made.
I will bring forth change, I didn't say it say it was going to gift wrapped with a nice little cute red bow on top of it and sprinkles glued on a by little Peggy Sue from pre-school though.
No, it's going to get ugly out there. Believe it, and believe that you've only seen the beginning.
(Open to response from anyone out there who wants to. I know you're out there. )
