Bio:
The progression of Sonya Robbins' wrestling career reached a new level in the 2010. The fastest rising talent in the Diamond Division reached that level late in the year, during the course of the XWA's first ever Women's Only The Strong Tournament.
After emerging victorious in the illustrious competition, she was made the #1 contender for the Diamond Championship. Due to some corporate situation that took shape, the title was vacated by it's then titleholder. This set up a title match at XGAMES4 between Sonya and longstanding rival, former champion Jamie Fury.
Sonya didn't win the match or the title that night, but her performance was a moral victory and the culmination of years of hard work in the business, both in XWA and before she was scouted to join the company. The "Redheaded Pitbull" had made her claim of being one of the best female competitors in the world today, and had earned tremendous respect in the industry.
Now, the 2011 season has come, and there's only one more rung of the ladder for Sonya Robbins to climb...the one that will have her standing at the top of women's wrestling, holding the most coveted prize in the sport. A "furious" undertaking in an of itself, but Sonya's got a wave of momentum and confidence on her side.
She believes that if anyone can become "the next Diamond Champion", it's her. What else might this new campaign bring? That's another story.
