Kenji was confident. A little too confident. The adrenaline must've been high after his spat in the ring with John Smith and 187, and that will usually lead to a little excessive "bravado". But Katana was a lot like Justice. Untested. At least in this arena they call the XWA. Sure he might be able to fight, but can he do so in this environment? That remains to be seen. Payne replies in kind...

Here's a word of advice, Katana...before you go on making enemies out of everyone in the locker room, worry about the ones you made tonight, because they just might be the ones to take care of you. You oughta be careful what you say, cuz if you're the one who gets pinned or taps out tonight, then all that talk there is exactly that. Talk...with nothing to back it up.

Take it from someone who's been in the ring with plenty of talkers, when you show what kind of actions you bring to the fight, then people will pay attention to the talk that comes with it. You might be able to "sing" real good, but you need to prove whether you can "dance", too.

Don't forget...you're the new guy.

He turns to Payne. He knew the man was good. He probably was better than Kenji. He didn't really mean it when he said it, it was his cockiness controlling him, but it hadn't given up control yet.

I guess we'll see tonight.

Yeah, but if anything...do us all a favor and knock that Smith guy down a peg or two. Not even 15 minutes of hearing him and he's already annoying.

[Kenji Katana]

Signs of a face turn? or at least tweener? Maybe his cockiness just decided to shut the fuck up. Either way, he wasn't his usual self. Pre match nervousness? Could be...

[Justice Asuka]

Justice dropped back a little from the male posturing and bravado. She looked around at the faces and felt the energy starting to build as the clock kept counting. A few people were already starting to head towards the constructed ring, and soon those people would be everyone. There was no official announcement, but everything was changing. She felt her stomach tighten. Then she took a deep breath.

"I guess it's almost time."

She looked up at Jon again.

"It was nice to meet you."

She looked at the others and offered a smile.

"You guys too. Good luck."

Justice waved and turned away from the group, heading for the changing area. She wondered who she would be facing tonight and most of all she wondered if she was ready.
