The always outspoken former Diamond Champion Channelle Valencia recently did a candid interview with the reputable wrestling news site, and as you'd expect, she pulls no punches, shows no mercy and will leave many, many people upset. After the interview, her response to the above statement was "all in a day's work".
On "The Great Divide"...
When I heard they were shipping all the bulldykes, has-beens, wannabes and charity cases to another brand in XWA, I was elated. When I heard they weren't even in the company anymore? I was doing the "Dance of Joy" like an old episode of "Perfect Strangers".
Did I just say that? Oh yes I did.
Personally, I was only concerned with the females anyway. Never really paid much attention to the guys, since most of them usually talk about the same shit anyway. But the ladies...well...I don't think we're missing out on much what with who's gone, compared to who's here. Hell, you've still got me here, don't you?
On her "attitude"...
I know I talk. A lot. I say a lot of stuff that's pretty arrogant, because it's my job. To light flames and incite your ire is the reason I get out of bed in the morning. But the one thing I have underneath the "bitch" mentality is respect. I know this business is bigger than me, and I know that the XWA is bigger than me. I would never have the audacity to say that I "carry" anything, because I know of a number of women who're still employed in the XWA that came before me and after me that have helped to carry the load.
I hype myself up in completely un-political means. I'm not "holier than thou", just "better than most". There's a difference.
About her place in wrestling history...
I'm not the one who thinks her shit doesn't stink, compared to some ironing boards who pass off for women out there who think they've made "quantum leaps" for women's wrestling, I'm practically humble. See, I don't talk about what I do for the "biz". I talk about what I do for Channelle. Always have, always will. That's what separates me from the other so-called "bad girls" out there.
Everyone who steps between the ropes is doing something "for the business". What makes what one does any better than the next? I'm not a member of the Jamie Fury fanclub, but a woman like her, now she deserves some credit. All the Xtraordinaires do. They're the ones who've done things "a cut above". Even I admit to that. Me? I'm just a squirrel trying to get a nut.
Take it from the most self-centered, egotistical woman in the ring today...anyone who even thinks that their efforts alone are what defines a title, a division or a company, is a sad, delusional wretch who has to cling on to any convoluted "importance" they can to make themselves feel special.
About her place in the XWA...
I don't have to tell you what I've done for you to know who I am, you already know. The most controversial moments in the XWA usually have me surrounding them. Whether I win or I lose, I'm always talked about.
I'm Channelle Valencia. I'm not the most evil woman in wrestling, I'm not the meanest, or the baddest either. I'm simply put..."that bitch". That's all I aim to be. Either I'm that bitch who gets what she wants, how she wants it, or I'm that bitch who did what would make little girls go crying to their mommies, OR that bitch who your mommy told you not to be around or to be like.
But why is that, hmm? If anything, I should be a role-model. See, everything I've gotten, I got my way. I didn't have to pander to the fans on camera to get where I am. I didn't have to open my legs to the men in this business behind the scenes either. I can tell you quite a couple of girls who've gone that route, and that's the only reason you even heard of them. Hell, there's a few guys who've whored themselves out like that, just to get some recognition...I'm not gonna name names though. Maybe next time.
Now, some of you retards out there will say "she's contradicting herself" because I sound EXACTLY like I'm talking like I'm the greatest thing to happen to wrestling since the Kofi Kingston kickpad. Ever notice how many wrestlers are wearing them nowadays? Anyway...
Hello, morons. All I've said is how I handle my business, compared to how some others handle theirs. Channelle does for Channelle. Period. I'm not bigger than the business, but I am about my business, and I promise you all that business will be booming in 2011.
I dedicate the my new XWA season to all of the haters, gutless trash talkers and the whole idiotic IWC out there. Yes you. And you. For all of you who hate me, or hate on me, just for doing my job...good. That means I'm doing my job.
Ciao.
