I think this could be something new. Maybe. Game designers are huge nerds. They also love referencing a ton of things. Be it internet memes or memorable things from movies and television shows. Be it an object, a quote, or what have you. Hell, they even reference other games in their game. So, how about we keep a tab on that?
You don't have to prove it via a picture, but it would help solidify it to a degree. Simply state the game, where it was, and what it was (if you couldn't snap a shot) and to what it is referencing.
This one I'm going to start the thread off with is a bit of a cheat. Its a custom campaign for Left 4 Dead, and as such, has a lot of custom textures in it. I haven't seen this particular writing on any wall in the main game, so, I'm assuming its a custom made one - however... It is a reference and it is in a game, so, it'll work for me.
Game: Left 4 Dead (Custom Campaign, Suicide Blitz) Where: Second Safehouse, Start of Third Chapter What: See Picture Reference To: Mystery Science Theater 3000

I discovered this one about a year or two ago. Snapped it and shared it with a few friends but I figured since I started this thread I should add it in if I still had it. Which I do! So, here we go.
Game: Saints Row 2 Where: Rounds Square Shopping Mall What: See Picture Reference: 2 Girls 1 Cup

While not video game related, I've been on a huge Metalocalypse kick lately and I forgot how many metal references this show has. Finntroll's grocery store, Burzum's dinner, Dimmu Burger fast food joint, and my favorite, Iced Earth Community Skating Rink, among others.

187 - I'll be sure to remind you! XD
Amber - Probably so. But is it real chocolate or... I'm not going to finish that. XDD
Kayn - I haven't watched that show in a long time. I watched a couple of episodes when it came out and felt unimpressed with it to be honest. Maybe its gotten better since those first episodes? Not a clue but I'm loving those references *giggles* Here's another from Saints Row 2 to keep the thread-a-goin~ This was another one I found about 2 years ago. Recollection of its location is fuzzy though.
Game: Saints Row 2 Where: I'm not sure - I want to say on the North Island though. If I can find my copy, I'll try and find it and update this What: See Picture Reference To: Xbox 360's Red Ring of Death

In my brief time with SR2, I remember there being parody abound in Stillwater. But keep it coming, lol.

I don't believe I've ever seen this place. Is this on the 360 version of the game or is this also on the PS3 version?

Its on the PS3. ^_^ I'm pretty sure its on the 360's version as well, I don't see why it wouldn't be (but you never know).
Some of them are easy to miss, just thinking they are regular building signs. I'm sure I've passed by a few in my time without noticing them. Hehe.

Cool. lol I was just wondering because it's a 360 reference. I would think they would've done a PS3 reference for the PS3 version and the Red Ring for the 360, but I guess not. It's a funny find though. lol

Now since -I- myself do not have a capture device, I had to find a image on the interwebs for it. Mass Effect 2, DLC Loyalty Mission for Kasumi Goto - Donovan Hock's Vault Reference to Dragon Age Origins Nice big ass statue of the infamous 'Ogre' of Dragon Age; Origins held by Collector and overall evil asshole Donovan Hock. /He's got some other nice shit in his vault too but this is the DA ref/
