I am really looking forward to this game, but there is one major worry I have. That it will be just as stilted and broken as it's predecessor. Out of 56 characters, only about 5 were ever really useful. If someone picked Mag/Storm/Sent or Mag/Storm/Cable, your ONLY hope was to pick the same team or a close combination of the very few select characters that were 'god tier'. Capcom seems to have worked this issue out but with only high level tourny players being able to test and play the game. One has to think. What is keeping them from lieing to capcom and making this game an unplayable mess as well?
Call me 'salty' all you want, but there is NO WAY in hell I am shelling out $60 bucks of my hard earned money only to be screwed out of having fun by having much of the roster of a game be totally and utterly useless.

To a point that was true. Personally though I never really ever used the Magneto Storm Cable team of whatever you want to call it. The only character I ever used on average that was considered high tier to MY knowledge was Rouge. And even then I was almost more B.B. Hood and 'Kura. Felicia and the like. Morrigan. Darkstalkers really and a mix of Wolvey.
They've SAID recently in various previews and such that there's a vastly improved sense of balance in the game. The one exception that Seth has seemed to indicate may be a potential one sider is Dark Phoenix. Then again there are special conditions in order to shift from Phoenix to Dark anyway. You know, dying and such. Not to mention your life meter constantly drains per second per second. So you get massive power for about 60 seconds.
But a professional, or even a button masher, can do a LOT of damage in a full minute of a character being all buffy buffy.
They plan on adding more and more DLC character ontop of the pre-release with special edition Jill and Gorath in the future, so I'm hoping with that potential balance updates get put in. No matter how much balance has been fixed since MVC2, there WILL be issues. There always is. It's a video game lol
I have seen some streams of the 'Secret' MVC3 Preview Tourney they had recently though...
And I already got bad feelings about Storm again lol

I'm fine with issues, but MvC2 had more then issues. I haven't seen the 'secret' tourney footage yet, but with guys like Justin Wong there I am sure the quality of play will be high.

Honestly, TaskMaster looks more interesting then Akuma, but Akuma looks like he will be a beast.

I'm kind of already sick of Grab-Bag characters and Task is only the second one in the game. The whole ideal of a character having the exact powers as two or three or four others is a bit overdone in my opinion. SF has been doing it for years in terms of the 'Shotos' and such. I had hoped it wouldn't transfer over..
D<..
Yeah, cause Akuma wasn't enough of a Demon in SSF4. Least in that one he had a low stun ratio... something tells me from the intro trailer and the other game play ones... this is not true in MVC3. Four ultras, and it seems 'THE' one may either be a counter-only, or used in a situation like that to prove it has invincibility frames and priority vastly higher than other ultras.
Oh me oh my.

Having 2 shotos is better then the four that were in MvC2.

I was technically referring to Taskmaster being the second Super Skrull in terms of copied powers, but you have a point. I was going to go on and list all the 'Shotos' from SSF4, till I remembered even though everyone uses the term for those who PLAY like Ryu & Ken, the term technically counts for those who character wise USE Shotokan Karate.
Cause like if you count those who PLAY like them roughly a quarter of the roster were Shotos..
/Shivers/
But I kinda am happy to see Akuma in really. They seem to have kept Viper true to her play style well enough but still give her some diversity. And from the vids alone it's clear Akuma and Ryu don't play IDENTICALLY either. So this is good.
/Still holds some small miraculous grain of salt chance Juri makes her way in/

This game needs more Gambit. I'm a little concerned that Gambit's not on the game since he was my most frequently used character in MvC2. Hopefully there's still room for him, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't make it.

He looks like he'll be a pain in the ass. I may need to pull out my spammer team that I usually need for Abyss on MvC2.
Iron Man x3. lol XD
Gah, I hate cheap bosses and Galactus looks like he's going to be one of those. Especially with a 185 hits in 2 seconds move.

Hopefully I can just hit him with a million Proton Cannons and get past him with that. lol That's how I tend to deal with Abyss. I can never seem to get around him without Iron Man in my team and blasting the Proton Cannon whenever I can.
