Devil's Night comes back from a previous segment to the sounds of a brand new entrance theme over the PA. The song was "Deus Ex" By the band I Am Ocean, the new entrance theme of Tommy Tryton. He steps out from behind the set met with a roaring cheer so deafening, the roof of The Palace almost came off. Dressed in a muscle shirt, black jeans and worker boots, Tommy soaks in the immense love being showered down on him by fans he was all to familiar with.
Tony:What an ovation for that man. The former XWA World Champion. One of the best pound for pound talents in the business.
Tommy makes his way down to the ring, giving high fives and fist bumps along the way to the front row fans. He slides into the ring and is handed the mic from the PA announcer. As his music begins to fade, a thunderous chant can be heard from the crowd;
"Welcome back!!! Welcome back!!! Welcome back!!!"
A chant that meant worlds to Tommy. He nods in acknowledgment and responds.
It'sgreat to be back, folks. It really is. Tonight is a real special night for me. This is a night I've marked down on my calendar, and will never forget the rest of my days in this ring. Tonight is the night I start chapter 3 of my career as a wrestler. Right here, where it all started for me. Five years ago, a guy I think people here in Detroit know fairly well named Hogan Chase gave me my 1st gig as a wrestler in Prime Time Wrestling. And it's safe to say, five years later, he made a good choice giving a 21 year old kid a shot to wrestle in front of a televised audience. PTW wasn't a big company. Hell, we only had a regional TV deal here in the central US. When Hogan decided to sell the company to Gallas Global Enterprises, I kinda wondered which way I should have gone. A lot of the guys I worked with there opted out of their contracts. But I decided after a long talk with my pop and Cody Black that making the jump to a major company would be a good move. They felt it was time to introduce the world to Tommy Tryton.
When I made my XWA debut...well...we all know how my rookie year with the company was. Contrary to what some might say, I have no problems with saying that I owe one Scott O'Dell a hell of a lot. He gave me the platform to raise up the ranks here in XWA, and I made the most of it. I owe a lot to Adam Devlin as well. Before I went to Takedown in 2009, I had a series of matches against him. But it wasn't the matches that stood out, it was his aura. He came out with a sense of honor that I admit at the time I was lacking. I mean, I had my reasons. My Girlfriend/manager who also came here to XWA with me jumped ship and shacked up with my former running buddy, a guy I thought I could trust. It was after that experience with Adam that I decided I needed to be more then just another airhead. That's where chapter two started.
Tommy pauses briefly as the fans continue to cheer.
And of course, chapter two was pretty damn good. It saw me score the XWA World Title. An experience I'll never soon forget. And I carried that title with poise, honor and respect. Which is the reason why I'm congratulatory to Kayn for winning it at Ring Rage. If there was ever a man who deserved to be world champ, and can carry the title with honor, it's him. Now, I won't get into details as to why I'm now back on Overload, I'll just say the opportunity was made available that I could have stayed or gone. And the grid of competition on Overload is deeper, so it was an easy choice in the end. So here I am, back where it started for me in XWA. And folks, if you thought you'd seen the best of what Tommy Tryton had to offer, you're sadly mistaken. Chapter three is gonna be the best one yet. Hell, it might be so good, I actually let my hair grow in. *Heh heh* Tommy Tryton is back, Overload. Take a good look at the bar, fellas. It just got raised.
With a smile on his face, and the support of the crowd, Tryton lowers his mic. He then prepares to leave the ring.
Tony: Sounds to me like he's ready to continue where he left off, eh partner?
Travis: Talk is cheap, Gomez. Of course he succeeded on Takedown, do you see what kind of so called "roster" they have? That's like having Josh Hamilton hitting against a high school pitcher. He's out of the kiddie pool and back in the ocean, where the sharks are. And there's gonna be blood in the water for him soon enough.
