Congratulations (Okami)

The OTS PPV continues with an outside camera shot of the venue and beautiful Athens, Greece. We join the camera and the lovely Fabiola outside of an unmarked dressing room. Fabiola begins to knock on the door and the camera zooms in to the surprise of the crowd the wrestler that opens the door is none other than Paige Monroe.

Monroe opens the door looking more angry than usual..

Monroe: What do you want?! Fab!

Fabiola: Well Paige when I got word that you had arrived I just had to come get a quick word with you. The XWA universe hasn’t heard anything from you since Ring Rage 2010.

Monroe: And the point you are making is?

Fabiola: Well it’s just that almost as soon at the refs hand counted that third down last month you were out of the ring and then out of the building almost immediately. And honestly haven’t been seen or heard from since.

Monroe: Maybe you didn’t understand what I just said, what’s your point? You know what never mind. For the record I’ve been around, you would know this if you were a wrestler or at least someone in the know. But as fate has it you aren’t important enough to get that kind of information, and I’m done talking with you so get the hell out of here.

Monroe snatches the microphone from Fabiola and scares her off.

Now what the company doormat is gone. I would first like to say congratulations to all those who won their matches at Ring Rage 2010. It was an amazing event all around. I would also like to send a congrats to those who won titles at the ppv. Especially… (said with hesitation) the new XWA Diamond’s champion Okami Hawaito.

The crowd pops at the mention of the new Diamond’s champion.

Congratulations to you for scoring what might go down as the biggest fluke win ever in the history of our sport. Never has such a flash pin changed up the dynamics of a company or division as much as you pinning me did last month.

Crowd boos Monroe’s comments.

Now I’m sure the brass up front all had a smile on their faces because finally after shoving you down the throats of the XWA universe for a year you are at the top of their mountain. The masked face of Diamond’s division. Really congrats, you even got the seal of approval from the mighty Jamie Fury. It was a very touching passing of the torch. A torch I plan on taking and setting you ablaze with!

The boos once again almost drown out Monroe’s harsh words.

You see your flash pin it ruined my plans Hawaito. I was supposed to walk out of that cage with the title around my waist, it was written and you stopped that. Then I read your dumb little interview in that magazine asking why I dislike you so much. It’s quite simple, I hate you! I hate what you stand for, I hate your music and I hate that you are holding my title right now. Now you can imagine my disappointment earlier tonight when the new Takedown GM announced the Diamond division’s own Only the Strong bracket and my name wasn’t shown. A concreate spot at X-Games and I was denied my glory again. I won’t lie I was a bit upset but then I received a little memo from the people in charge and everything was put into prospective. Because when I read that memo a smile stretched across my face. Because what I read named me the number 1 contender for the XWA Diamond’s Championship!

The crowd lets their shock be known.

Now while news of that proportion is great news by itself but here’s the real kicker. It’s a 1-on -1 encounter. No, 4 way dance, not a 3 way with Jamie. Just you and I, Okami, just you and I.This season our paths have been one in the same and we aren’t’ done yet. But tonight I plan on skinning me a wolf and leaving you broken body on the side of the road and walking out of OTS with 10 pounds of gold.

The camera cuts back to the announce team at ringside.

Rhinestone Eyes by Gorillaz plays as the Athens crowd jumps to their feet to catch a glimpse or photo of the new Diamond Champion, Okami Hawaito. With the Championship secure around her waist, she was free to wave to the crowd with both hands as she broke through the curtain barrier. The sound was electric and it made her spontaneously begin to applaud the crowd. She was their Champion now, and they accepted her with smiles. As the beat began to get serious she nodded her head to the bouncing crowd and then made her way to the ring. She touched every hand that was offered. She pointed out signs with her name and likeness made by hand.

Noodle:
"That's electric!"

Matt Goldman: "Listen to this crowd, Buzz. They are the ones who are electric and Okami is charging up."

BuZZ BeRmaN: "Cute. Cute play on words. All this Japanese Tech Hop Anime Bounce is a little much for me to swallow, but there is no denying that the XWA crowd is digging Okami."

It was a moment. It passed and Okami Hawaito was standing in the ring as her music faded away. That left only the naked sound of the crowd which was not as pure as the announcers had described. A chant of "Fury! Fury! Fury!" could be heard through the cheering. Okami did not cut it off. She listened. She nodded. She let it run its natural course before she spoke into the microphone.

Thank you.

A small wave of applause rippled through the arena.

Thank you for your support. Thank you for your smiles. Thank you for your dancing spirit.

Okami stopped, and looked out to the crowd.

Thank you for saying Jamie Fury's name. She deserves it. She always will. I can not replace her. I do not want to replace her. I can not fill her steps on this path.

Okami gestured to the canvas of the ring.

I can only thank you for joining me on the turn of my path. My turn as the XWA Diamond Champion.

Matt Goldman: "Another public nod of respect to Jamie Fury, and she deserves every last one. Truly one of the most dominant and beloved Champions in XWA history."

BuZZ BeRmaN: "Very few match Jamie Fury in the history books, and one on one? I don't think Okami Hawaito would be wearing that belt."

I thought I would be facing Jamie Fury tonight. She was not pinned when she lost this.

The crowd cheered as Okami pointed to the title around her waist.

She has every right. But her path has turned too. She is moving forward and her path has cleared some where else. I know we all will be watching.

Matt Goldman: "That somwhere else is none other than Ashley Diamond, Buzz."

BuZZ BeRmaN: "There aren't many Diamond dream matches that can top that, Matt. You are talking the two pinnacles of this sport. Let's hope XWA can make that happen because that would make this season."

Another wave of applause washed through the arena again.

It was not surprising that Jamie Fury moved forward. It was surprising to hear the woman I pinned at Ring Rage would meet me again. But I am not a fortune teller. I am only a simple pilgrim. If the path will have us meet 100 times, I will follow it Monroe, Paige.

The crowd bood with feeling and again Okami let the sound run its natural course before she continued.

I understand your feelings. She is a self centered woman. She does not care about you. She does not care about the XWA. She does not care about the path.

Okami shakes her head.

The only thing she cares about is the Diamond Championship.

The crowd boos again as Okami continues to shake her head.

Monroe, Paige? It is an empty life you lead. I wish you would tear down your simple title house and join the path again. You could learn. You could grow. These fans could join you. You could be alive.

Okami looked up at the ramp.

But you are just an empty desire Monroe, Paige. A simple thing, and I am going to give everything I have to keep it that way.

The crowd cheered Okami's fighting spirit. There was no doubt she meant everything she said. You could feel it in between her words. You could see it in her eyes behind the mask.

I am not going to punish you for your hatred and anger, Monroe. Your hatred and anger are going to punish you. It is the law. I am not going to save you from them. Only you can do that. Tonight I am going to fight you in all directions. I am going to use everything I have learned. I am going to show you where you stand because that is what this title means and this is what the fans deserve.

The fans cheered again as her voice had built with reverence and strength.

Where are you Monroe, Paige? The path is open to everyone. The path is open to you.

Okami opens her arms in invitation, but there was no need. The path was open to anyone: winners, losers, the angry, the sad, the pilgrim, the fighter. The path did not care. That is why it is beautiful. It teaches all who simply dare. Okami smiled with the knowledge and bowed her head in thanks to it all again.
