A single moment (spoilo2reactions)

The XWA had just witnessed a rare combination of circumstances that changed a situation drastically. If the referee had been one centimeter to the left or right. If Paige Monroe had landed anywhere else. If Sireena had kicked instead of punched. If Okami had not leaned back into the hooked lef until she was on the tip of her toes. Those were the obvious variables; a thousand more laid just beneath them. The XWA had just witnessed a perfect storm in the blink of an eye and a new Diamond Champion stood in the middle of The Path surrounded by confusion, shock and chaos.

Matt Goldman: "Was that!? The referee is pointing frantically at the time keeper! Was that three!!? It was!!! It was!!! OkamiHawaitoisthenewDiamonChampion!!! OkamiHawaitoisthenewDiamonChampion!!! I can't believe it!!!"

BuZZ BeRmaN: "What is going on here!?"

It was confusion mixed with excitement at the announce table, but finally 'Sci-fi Wasabi' began to play and everyone began to realize at once what exactly had happened. A sudden flash pin had just ended the Diamond Crucible. The referee grabbed the Diamond Title and pressed it against the flesh of the rising White Wolf. He then quickly abandoned the rising cage just as fast as his short, squat body would let him.

BuZZ BeRmaN: "He's given her the title!?"

Matt Goldman: "The White Wolf has pinned Paige Monroe! In all the confusion... I still can't believe it. Okami Hawaito is the new Diamond Champion!"

BuZZ BeRmaN: "Somebody should stop this music. We need a replay, damnit!"

But the cage continued its journey up and the music kept playing as the crowd finally got it and began to cheer, boo, dance or look at each other with jaws on the floor.

Cibo Matto:
"I'm searchin'
the city
for Sci-fi Wasabi"

Buzz finally got his replay on the big screen and the entire arena watched again as all the elements combined for that one singular moment again, again and again. The replay looped several times before cutting back live to the ring. Live where Okami brought the title over her head then down again.

Matt Goldman: "Buzz, we've seen a lot together. But I'm just about speechless. Off a flash pin Okami has beaten the odds and become the Diamond Champion."

BuZZ BeRmaN: "No matter how many times you say it or how many times I see it. I still can't believe it. But there she is, your new Diamond Champion."

Cibo Matto:
"Obi Wan Kenobi is waiting for me."

The reality of the situation was far from Okami's thoughts. A simple quest to find out where she stood on the path they all shared had suddenly turned as the path often did. She pointed out to her fans again. Her heart soared above the path with wings. She could see it all for the briefest moment stretched out below her and it was beautiful. But what happens after a perfect storm passes? What happens with that first sunrise? Those questions had not found her attention yet. But they would, and she would not have the answer.

At that point the cameras were all on Okami. A new champion was crowned in almost a blink of an eye...faster than that even. Jamie was still groggy from the hard knee and bulldog delivered to her by the aggressive Paige Monroe, and just like that, before anyone could react quick enough, Okami would score the pinfall that as the slogan of this PPV event fortells "changes everything".

Wow...

That's all she could muster up to say of what had just happened. She knew well about Okami's speed, but that was as unexpected as it comes what just happened. As the cage rose back to the rafters, Jamie got back to her feet and stood in corner as Okami had been awarded the Diamond Title. She felt it was only fitting that she personally congratulate the new champion.

As Okami lowered the title belt after raising it triumphantly to the heavens. Jamie nods and meets her in the center of the ring, resting her hand on Okami's shoulder. She touches the centerplate of the title one last time and says to the new champion...

Take care of her. She means more to this industry than any of us can imagine. I know she's still in good hands though.

A huge wave of emotion washed over Okami as she looked up into the face of Fury and listened to her words through the noise of the moment. She was left stunned and speechless for a moment as the crowd cheered the face to face meeting, even if the words were lost. With no microphone and no voice anyways, Okami did the only thing she could think of. Standing up very straight, with her arms at her side, she bowed slow, low and ceremoniously to Jamie Fury. It was the ultimate sign of respect in her country. She held her head low until the crowd cheered again in a giant wave. Jamie Fury had all of their respect and love because of the way she carried herself through the XWA. Okami Hawaito had the Diamond Title, but it took nothing away from Jamie Fury. In fact, it only made her look greater as took defeat with the ever present class she walked her own path with. Okami slowly raised her head.

Thank you.

She bowed a second time, quickly and a third before taking Jamie Fury's hand and raising it as high as she could. She pointed at Jamie Fury as the true winner at any time or place, and the crowd erupted again. In a night of chaos and sudden change, it was a feel a good moment for almost everyone. Two women who had battled each other with true respect and intensity. Two women who Okami knew would meet again. It was the way of things that were unfinished. It was the way of the path they both shared.
