Hot on the heels of the 2nd annual Ring Rage PPV, moves have been made that will surely shape what's to come for the looming 2011 season. A number of XWA talent will now call the opposite brand they started 2010 in their home.
After 2 years of lackluster performances and personal strife, Kim Hunter has been relocated to the Takedown roster by the request of new GM Chris Lionheart. It's well documented that Hunter's career was at it's peak when last she worked under Lionheart, and the goal is to hopefully see her reclaim some of her lost glory against the more technical grid of Takedown Diamonds.
But Kim's not the only XWA talent making a move. Takedown Wrestlers Blade Myers, Kris Cade, Khryst, Buliwyf and former XWA World Champion Tommy Tryton will all be competing on Overload. In a move that some might call questionable due to the already thin Takedown men's roster, Overload GM Stan O'Malley stated;
"This move is done in the best interest of the wrestlers. These are all guys who are fierce competitors. Guys who want to come out and showcase themselves as the best in the game. Cade, Myers and Tryton began their XWA careers on Overload. And Buliwyf and Khryst we feel fit more in the landscape Overload provides. It's all about aggression and fearlessness. And these men are among the tops of both those categories. There's plenty of new talent I'm sure Lionehart and Ms. Blackheart have scouted to fill the spots left open by this move. But these guys need to be tested, and that's just not happening on Takedown."
As the 2010 campaign soon draws to it's end, these moves are sure to set the pace for what's to come in XWA season V.
