So I changed LH's moves to include more of the ones from an old "SVR 05" moveset I found typed up for him... and now he hardly EVER grapples. The most I'll get is a reversal or an occasional quick grapple. He won't strong grapple to svae his live and just tries to strike, strike, strike. I didn't change any A.I. settings, not that I know how to. All I did was change the moves and add some abilities whereas before he had no abilities at all.
New Abilities, in order: 1. Pull Back Attacks 2. Hammar Throw 3. Move Thief 4. Ring Escape 5. Outside Dives 6. Springboard Dives

The AI (annoyingly) tries to set up grapples with strikes. It'll usually use a punch (whichever is set to the Strike button with no direction) then use the default toe kick before going for a strong grapple. Just make sure your neutral Strike button is a standard punch, preferably a quick hitting one, so that he can set up the grapple without being countered too often.

I know that before he might do a toe kick and then a strong grapple. but now it's like strike, strikc, strike, toe kick, and then either quick grapple or pull back attack if he ever gets that far without being reversed. Lets just say that in character and in the games LH's has never really been a striker and evidently can't do it right if his life depended on it judging by current matches. His though process of even attempting a strong grapple seems to have gone out the window.
I may try killing all the abilities I gave him and see what happens then, but has there been any research done into weather or not abilities affect the style of fighting (e.g. abiligy 'x' = more strikes over grapples)?

Could try other abilities and see how he goes.
