Xtraordinaire: Be the BEST of the BEST!!!

The title of "Xtraordinaire" is given at the end of a season to the one male and one female character who exemplifies what it means to be a star in the "XWAniverse". Amidst a gamut of strong (or at least decent) characters, these individuals consistently produce content that sets them above the pack and are that season's "best of the best".

Since the start of the XWA there's been several ways mostly explained in separate threads to earn the honor. Going forward, this here will be the one and only guideline you'll need to walk the path to XWA greatness.

1) It's All In The Roleplay. Xtraordinaireship is awarded to characters who are roleplayed well by their handlers. They are the deepest, most well-rounded characters in the league that season. If you simply want to be in the action that's fine, but those who go above the norm get "The X".

2) Consistency Over Quantity. How much you roleplay and how many people you interact with are not factors that go into selection. By consistency, I mean the constant fleshing out of your character through absorbing them into the XWA "culture". An Xtraordinaire is a part of the XWAniverse, not just in it.

3) If they don't look good, you don't look good. Good interaction benefits all parties involved. You need to make yours do that by being flexible to other people's character and roleplaying styles and produce material that helps to establish all handlers/characters involved. No ones a stepping stone and nobody should be left behind.

4) Be a go-getter. It's not my job to make your character relevant in the XWA. You need to do things or say things that make an impact. Things that make others know that you are for real and you desire to be on the top of the mountain. Do things that will make people pay attention to whatever it is that you do next. Cut promos. Challenge specific individuals, not just anyone who comes along. Even if they're in something, you dropping their name let's them know you want a piece of them and most importantly that you're paying attention. More on that below.

5) You are not an island. The wrestling universe doesn't revolve around what you do. In order to be a major piece of the puzzle you need to realize that you're not. That means pay attention to what other characters are up to. Have at least an idea of what it is they've been doing. You never know who else might be gunning for that spot, and not having a clue what they've done to get to where they are makes you look really bad. You can forget The X if you can't at least read up on other people's work.

That's trying to explain what it takes. Now let me list it in scientific form...

I have number one underlined because that's the most important factor. If you're actively doing number 2-5, then #1 is automatic.

That's stuff every member should be doing anyway...but those who do it all season long are no doubt the ones who get the accolade of Xtraordinaire. It's the award that shows that you've sewn yourself into the fabric of the XWA, and an honor that goes beyond any championship here...and yes, membership has it's privileges. In as general a way possible to term it, Xtraordinaires do all in their power to make the XWA a more interesting place by doing more interesting things.

So now that you know, go forth and show the XWA you not only belong here, but you belong at the top...and then you can say...

In light of recent events, I must point out a few other things regarding Xtraordinaireship. It should go without saying, but it'll be said regardless. In order to earn and KEEP the "X" honor, you must be a member of the XWA in good standing. Obviously, leaving the XWA for anything aside from personal or reasonable creative reasons will result in you being stripped of the Xtraordinaire honor.

Adding on to what was pointed out IC with Carmella Blackheart, Xtraordinaireship is not just a "best roleplayer" award. It's an honor bestowed upon the members who best represent this e-fed through their efforts in character and their conduct out of it. Naturally if you choose to no longer be a part of this e-fed in order to join another one exclusively, you relinquish the honor.

Nobody is "contracted" in e-feds. You choose to be here or elsewhere, but if you choose to be elsewhere instead of here, you null the accolades earned here aside from title reigns your CAW might have amassed.

If as an Xtraordinaire you choose to be in another e-fed as well as here in the XWA (as one of them is doing), the "X" is still honored.

If as an Xtraordinaire, you choose to take time off, reduce your activity or retire (as in 0 roleplaying activity anywhere), the "X" is honored. Furthermore, your membership will never be deleted.

If however, as an Xtraordinaire you willingly leave and contribute elsewhere with no intention of being a part of the XWA, the "X" is revoked, and furthermore, said character is "blacklisted" from the XWA. Even if the handler so chose to return to this fed, he/she will have to start over with a new character, not one who can rely on old glories to get involved.

Please note, this applies only Xtraordinaires. Regular members who depart and return may do so with the same characters if they so choose, coming back after leaving is punishment enough to those who can withstand the obvious badgering that will come of it. Just keep in mind though that one of our Xtraordinaires actually weathered that storm...hence is why he's an Xtraordinaire now.

Harsh as it may sound, you have to bear in mind that Xtraordinaireship isn't something that's just handed to anyone. The honor was created as a "thank you" to those who continue to support XWA and be exactly the kind of characters and members we strive to have take part in this fed. If you choose to go to a new playground, you take your ball with you, but leave ours where you found it.
