Well, I'm a bit glad I didn't tell anyone about this as I'd be feeling pretty dumb writing this blog or telling anyone later. I had found a job at a video & game rental store. I was honestly surprised I was hired, not to mention quite excited. I wanted to tell you guys when it happened but I wanted to wait about a week to see how things would go.
I worked 8 hours yesterday and I was enjoying it, except for the couple of rude teenagers that came in late in the afternoon, but I wont get into that right here. There was also an elderly man who came in and just stood around before leaving. Not sure what that was about. Eh, anyway, I worked 4 hours and some change today, so, that's 12 hours in all. I was scheduled for 8 hours today as well but I was let go.
From what the manager said to me, I was doing good, but someone who's been there for a few years now wanted to come back to work, apparently was out due to pregnancy but now with the baby born she's ready to get back to work. Since I was the new employee... Well, I got the shaft.
To say I was upset is an understatement. It only got worse when I asked if I was going to get paid for the 12 hours I put in and was told no. Apparently I didn't put in enough hours to get anything. According to him, anyway. I'm definitely not in a good mood after it.
My friend Kitty suggested I take it to small claims court, but honestly, I'd probably wind up spending more at the court and all the other things involved then what I'd get for doing it, so, it's honestly not worth it in the long run.
So, I'm pretty down right about now. Depressed, angry. Lots of different emotions right now really. I guess a plus is I have a fight coming up this weekend so I'll get some money but still... I wish I could get a steady job instead of getting money every couple months.
I apologize for these recent few blogs being pretty depressing but... yeah. Hopefully things get better and I finally write something not so depressing but only time will tell on that one. Anyway, that's about it for this one.
