After hearing the announcement made by Carmella Blackheart earlier in the evening. As to be expected. Genesis did have a bit of a mixed reaction.
On one hand. This was yet another opportunity for him get a shot at World Championship gold. On the other hand? His partner was the very man he's beaten three straight weeks. And not only that? Has one of the worst win-loss records in company history. Record that would make former superstar Chet Dixon cringe.
Nonetheless, they were coming into this match the definite underdogs. However, as fate would have it. Kayn & Scott Epic have had there fair share of issues as well. If anything, he felt that he & Dynamite could at least co-exist better then those two. They don't have to like each other. But they will put differences aside to fight for the richest prize in the game today. That much he was certain about.
After making his entrance. Genesis jumped on the microphone and started talking:
Sometimes... life is just full of surprises. To be perfectly honest? The last thing I expected coming into tonight's event was having another opportunity for a future shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. A lifelong dream I've been craving to achieve since my run began almost three years ago in this company.
Little did I know however. There was a little... curve ball thrown in to spice things up. Not only, is my tag team partner going to be the man I've beaten to a pulp three weeks in a row. But my opponents are going to be two guys who are considerably two of the best Takedown as to over (besides yours truly folks).
I might be getting up there in age. But I'm like fine whine. I'm getting better & better over time. Scott Epic, needless to say my friend? We've got quite the history. For months on end. All I've heard is you blabbering on & on & on & on about how you took out the 'Xtraordinaires'. How you single handily put myself, MG, and Kayn out of business.
Well, I believe its quite obvious to everyone here. Genesis is alive & well. Matter of fact, if anything. Epic only gave me another damn good reason to stick around, and continue fighting. Because if guys like him think he can step in here and disrespect the ground that we have all built from day #1? He's got another coming. Scott Epic. Your no Xtraordinaire pal. You don't deserve to even be mentioned in that same sentence as 'Xtraordinaire'. You are a DISGRACE to this business. You have done nothing but spit in the face of everyone you've came into contact with. Including, your own partner.
As for Kayn? Nothing but love & respect for you brother. But just know one thing. Tonight? All that will be thrown out the window. I will give you everything that I can dish out to you. Just as I will that little punk bitch alongside you. My goal tonight is picking up this victory and moving on to become the World Heavyweight Champion!
Finally, to my partner in crime tonight. Chris Dynamite. I know that we've killed each other these last several weeks. We've given our blood, our sweat and our tears to make a name for ourselves this year. Despite the lousy win-loss ratio. You've got something that NO MAN, not even I can take away from you... that is your HEART! Your desire to be the top guy.
If anything, in these last several weeks. You've shown to me, and to the world that you have all the credentials to one day become a future Xtraordinaire. Heck, if we win tonight? I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was you walking out the World Heavyweight Champion.
Don't think I'm going soft on you. Because after tonight is over & done with. Our tag relationship is over. You'll be just another enemy, like the others. I respect you kid. But that doesn't mean I have to like ya.
