As Takedown returns from a break, Fabiola stands in the interview area.
Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time...the XWA World Champion, Tommy Tryton.
Tryton steps into the scene dressed in street clothes, the World Title wrapped around his waist.
Tommy, last week you went one on one with one of, if not the most dominant force on Takedown...Buliwyf. A match that if he won, he'd gain a spot into The Crucibal, the main event match of Ring Rage where your World Title will be on the line. Buliwyf of course won the match, and in decisive fashion. How do you feel, champ?
A week later and I still feel like I got hit by a bus. Buliwyf's track record speaks for itself. I don't think there's been a man like him in wrestling for a long time. You can just take a look at the bandage on my forehead to get a glimpse of what kind of devastation he's capable of. And what's scary? I don't even think he was actually trying to hurt me last week. I knew I was in for a fight, but I can honestly say I wasn't expecting to get manhandled like that.
So the question now is, are you afraid of your championship being in jeopardy?
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't. It was at the 1st Crucibal that I won the title in the 1st place. And it was one of the hardest fought matches of my career. But this time around, there's an ex-factor in the match that I, and whoever the other two men that get in need to worry about. Buliwyf. I've seen the forums and read the blogs. Everyone has already pegged him as the odds on favorite to win. And to be honest, I don't blame them. The man has run over every single challenge put in front of him. It's hard to bet against a man who simply seems to have no weakness. I mean, just look at what he's done this season alone. But there's three other men who are gonna be in that match, one of which being me. And I kinda think I've got the advantage.
Advantage? How does that work?
Unless the other two men in are among the many dudes Buliwyf's beat the crap out of, I'm the only one going in that knows what to expect from him. He beat the hell outta me last week, but you can bet the farm I don't plan on laying down and losing this title to him, or whoever else is in that cage with me. Last time I was in a steel cage, it worked out pretty well for me as I recall. And I'm all about makin' a lil' magic happen the 2nd time around.
So what's on the agenda for tonight?
Well, on one side of the coin, I'd like to lick my wounds this week and rest up for Ring Rage. But you know me, I can never get enough of a good scrap. So I figure I'll do what no one would every expect me to do. Something that I know I'm gonna be questioned and second guessed about especially if I don't retain at Ring Rage. And that's challenge Buliwyf to a rematch here, tonight. Ya' see, it's one thing to beat my ass somethin' fierce. It's another to do it two times in a row. Last week, I got a good taste of what Buliwyf was all about. This week, he gets a heapin' helpin' of a can if Minnesota Ass Whoopin'. And if he beats me down again? Hey...I was always a bit of a glutton for punishment in the first place.
Tryton gives Fabiola a wink, then leaves the interview area.
There you have it. Tommy Tryton challenges Buliwyf, who dominated him just one week ago...to a rematch tonight. Let's send it back to Matt and Buzz at ringside.
