Overload returns from a break to the backstage area, where Stan O'Malley stands with Joe Beakman. Stan had some extra pep in his step coming off of actually pinning Primo Valiante at Vendetta.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm here with Overload GM Stan O'Malley, who's got some major new regarding XWA's next PPV, Ring Rage. So...what's the scoop, Boss?
As we all know, the main event of Ring Rage is The Crucibal, a 4 person Steel Cage match where the winner will leave champion. This year, the World, Diamond Global and Pearl titles will be on the line. Of course this being Overload, the Global and Pearl titles are our focus. As we heard earlier tonight, the former Global Champ Jimmy Ames has exacted his rematch clause for an automatic bid into the match, so two spots are already filled for the Global Title Crucibal. That leaves two left. Those two spots will be filled by way of a Tag Team match that will happen tonight. The winning team gets the final two spots in The Global Title Crucibal.
You mean four guys who have never so much as teamed up with each other before will have to gel as a unit to get a shot at the Global Title? Nice.
They may not have teamed before, but the four men I've decided on are no strangers to each other. Team #1 is going to consist of "The Equalizer" Osh Vaughn and Bryan Jasta. Their opponents? The one and only !!!JONNY PUNCH!!! and "The Samoan Monster" Toa.
Wow. No love lost between any of those guys. But uhm...what about the girls?
The spots for the Pearl Title Crucibal will be filled over the next two weeks. Tonight, like the fellas, we'll have a Tag Team match to fill two spots. Next week, both members of the losing team will face each other one on one, with the winner getting the final spot in the match. The participants will be the team of Holly Woodz and Shilo Sydal against Kim Hunter and Michelle Marx.
Now that's what I call an interesting match up. Those four are more likely to claw each others eyes out, and that's against their partners.
Tell me about it. But that's why I choose them. Let's see if they can keep their eyes on the prize. But I'm not at all done yet. No no no, there's another order of business I have tonight. And that business is with one certain Administrative Director. As we all saw, me and Adam picked up the win at Vendetta. Marshall Dane tried to make an example of me, but it blew up in his face. On the way here to Canada, I got a text message from Dane saying this was far from over. I couldn't agree with you more. At the last Overload, Dane had himself a blast making the matches. Well this week it's my turn. And I've got two matches in mind. The 1st one, is a match I know one guy has been chompin' at the bit for. That match is Adam Devlin one on one against Primo Valiante. If I know Adam as well as I do, I know he's more then ready to continue where he left off in Japan. The 2nd match, is one the fans have wanted to see for almost two years. Tonight, it's gonna happen in that ring. Van Hayden Vs. Scott O'Dell. That's how it's goin' down tonight. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a phone call I need to make.
Stan exits the interview area.
Another stacked show on tap, with big matches that have title implications as well as plain ol' braggin' rights in the balance. Let's go back to Tony and Travis at ringside.
