Following his successful No Limits Championship defense (and Sushi-X's first win of the new season), Sushi-X did his usual high fives and bows for the fans and headed backstage. As soon as he got backstage, he was trailed by a camera and a reporter for the XWA website. He was looking for instant reaction to the match and what Romeo Davis said during the show. The Chicago ninja, still physically spent and holding his head, spoke with the young man.
Sushi-X, you retained your No Limits title tonight; how are you feeling?
The ninja acknowledged the reporter, but kept walking back towards the locker room area.
I'm feeling blessed. Finally got the monkey off my back. Kelon was tough. He brought everything, but I brought a little more. That's why I came back here with the belt like I said I would.
I know Kelon's been chasing this belt for a while, but I'm still the lead dog in this division. And I'm gonna be the lead dog for a long time.
Now not only you got Finesse down the road after he recently won the Battle of the Future battle royal, but also Romeo Davis.
Sushi-X stopped for a moment. He was a bit surprised to hear his name. After all, they've become tight in recent months.
I respect Romeo and what he's done here. Why's he calling me out? You trying to start rumors or something, son?
No, sir, I wouldn't do that. I value my job too much, sir. Earlier tonight, Romeo said that a DDT done by you caused his neck to be in pain to the point where he couldn't compete tonight. He's blaming his injury on you. How do you respond to that?
Sushi-X thought about it for a moment before answering.
I'm gonna deal with that on Overload. I'm not gonna respond to that right now. Thanks for your time.
Thank you, sir.
