Gone Global (Invite)

We join Jimmy Ames backstage as he prepares for his defense of the XWA Global Title versus Lionel Xander in the main event. As he wraps his wrists, interviewer Joe Beakman comes in.

Hey Jimmy. Tonight's the night. You Vs. Xander for the Global Title. It seems like we've been waitin' forever for this to go down. How ya' feelin'?

Joe, I feel like a million bucks. Dare I say, I feel like I'm in the best shape I've been in to date. At the season premiere, I showed Xander that I can beat him one on one. Up until that night, he'd had my number in non-title matches. But like the age old saying goes "things change". But what's not gonna change is me beating him when it's all on the line. Am I doubting his ability? Hell no. I know well enough to that. I've danced with him enough times to know he's one of the top 10 pure wrestlers in the game. But that's where my edge comes into play. Lionel Xander is in his prime. He's been in his prime for some time now. Jimmy Ames on the other hand, isn't. As good as I am, I can only get better. Think of me as wrestling's Lebron James. When I started 4 years ago, I was an 18 year old punk with with chip on his shoulder. But now? At 22 years of age I've held more belts in this company then anyone on roster. Anyone. And I'm not even half as good as I can be...yet.

Sounds like you're pretty confident about leaving Japan still Global Champ.

You have to be confident. What's the point of going into a match thinking you're not gonna win? That's CRAZY TALK!!! *Chuckle* That bein' said, I don't take anything away from his skill. Or anyone else for that matter. It's not about what you've done in the past, or what you'll do in the future. It's what you do when the moment has arrived, the spotlight's on, and all eyes are on you. That's what I've always been about. Rising to the occasion. And tonight, I'm gonna do it the only way we Texans can, BIG.

Just then, Jimmy and Beakman are joined by another superstar.

[van]

Van Hayden enters the locker room. he gives Beakman a pat on the head before speaking.

JIMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!Not that ya' need it out there, but I figured I'd come wish ya' luck. Knowin' how it feels to hold that belt myself, I know it tends to bring the best, and worst outta the people who challenge for it.

Beakman chimes in.

Why are you so chipper? I'd figure you'd be pissed havin' lost to Osiris Alston last week.

Van replies.

What you fail to see Beakz, is that underneath that flamboyant, obnoxiousness, Alston's a damn good wrestler. Probably one of the most under rated on roster. The dude at one point won nine matches in a row as I recall. Problem is, his entire career he's been Scott O'Dell's "Yes-Man". And he's to stupid to realize it. Take my boy Jimmy here. Look what happened to his career when he got from underneath O'Dell's shadow. Same thing goes for Tommy Tryton over on Takedown. Bottom line, there's no benefit from bein' boys with blondie. But apparently Alston must like the view staning behind "The Franchise". But believe it or not, Alston's got a leg up on O'Dell. He actually managed to beat me. Scott didn't fair as well we we tangoed back in 2008. But bet your Yankee cap wearin' ass I plan on makin' up for last week in spades tonight.

The fans watching in the arena react with cheer.

Sounds to me like a challenge if I've ever heard one.

That's exactly what it is, Beakman.

Things would start to get even more interesting as Ames, Beakman and Hayden were soon to be joined by more Overload superstars.

Tension begins to rise, as into the locker room comes Osiris Alston and Scott O'Dell. They stand on the opposite side of Joe Beakman, and Osiris opens things up.

Donny, Donny, Donny...please. That's what the matter with you my Vanilla Brutha'. You're always so moody. So tense. Soooooo...brooding. It's your...negamegativity that clouds yourrrr...adaptivity. Which is the reason why I...tha' super mega mighty one and onlaaaaay Big O...whooped that ass last week. *Heh heh*

[scott]

O'Dell follows suit, adding his own response as well.

Ya'know. I find it real funny that you bring up your little string of wins over me back in 2008, Van. It's funny because, realistically...that's the most impressive thing you've done your whole career here in XWA aside from taking the National Title off of Jasta. Whereas me, I make history every week. That's what happens when you're the straw stirring the drink. And that's what I am, and always will be, championship or not. Now...we couldn't help but hear the conversation, and me and Alston here had a lil' brainstorm. It's been a long time since we've teamed up with each other. So we figure, why not change that tonight? So if you want Alston as badly as you do, Van. How about you go find yourself a partner stupi...I mean capable enough to team up with you, and we do it Tornado Style.

[van]

Van shakes his head, then replies.

I don't know what's worse. You constantly talkin' out of your ass all the time, or the Reverend here preachin' his nonsense. But ya' know somethin'? I like the idea of a Tornado Tag match. I like it a lot. Means I get to pick and choose which one of you jackasses I can beat the crap out of on the fly. And as far as a partner goes? I can think of dude who'd be more then happy to join in on the fun. In fact, he's a guy you should be quite familiar with, Scotty-boy. That Jones fellas from Brooklyn.

From the roar of the crowd, they were definitely in support of that idea.

Yea. He definitely takes me as a guy who's "capable" enough to give me a hand in beatin' your asses.

[si]

After taking his shades off in dramatic fashion, Alston speaks once again.

Neither a false profit or a kinnnnnnnnnnnnnngaaaaah...will stop me and my brutha' in arms Mr. O'Dell here...from exactin' our righteous indignationnnnnnnnnah...all ova' yo' face, feel me playa'? So you go, and you braaaaaaannnnnng Mista' Jones. Cuz we'll be brangin' da' whoopin', wit' a side of oops upside ya' head.



The Big OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...has spoken.

Alston pops his collar, and leaves the scene.

[scott]

Scott looks over to Jimmy soon after and says:

Oh yea. Before I forget...good luck out their, champ.

He smirks before eying the Global Championship, then takes his leave.

[ames]

The scene comes to a close with Jimmy saying sarcastically:

Thanks, Scotty.

Jimmy stands near Van, shaking his head. Vendetta heads to ringside, where the next match would begin.
