That was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Allow me to post a quote from the youtube page: "Brilliant way to revitalize the franchise. They kept the characters we all know and love, but moved them into the real world and dropped all of that magical/Outworld garbage that no one cared about anyway. I like how everyone's specialties have been given real world explanation (using footage of the real life inside out baby for reptile is a stroke of genius). Can't wait for whatever this is." I completely agree with the above. Kind of sucks that they murdered Cage already, but I suppose he was never that popular . LOVE LOVE LOVE what they have done with regards to reptile and how they explained it, as well as Baraka. And Scorpion, all the love that I have for him, that was simply awesome. STILL included the storylien between him and Sub-Zero which is brilliant. I cannot wait to see more of this.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortal_Kombat_9Mortal Kombat is an upcoming fighting game in the Mortal Kombat series. It is in development by NetherRealm Studios (formerly known as Midway Games) for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.[2][3] The game was first hinted at by developer Ed Boon on January 2009, shortly after the release of the previous game in the franchise, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.[4] In a November 2008 interview, Ed Boon stated that he believed Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe's performance would reflect upon what features what would be put in "the next game", presumably Mortal Kombat 9.[5] On June 18, 2009, Ed Boon confirmed in his Twitter page that they were performing motion capture for the game. He also revealed that the game will not have superheroes in it[6], thus ruling out an immediate follow-up to Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. He also stated that they were going back to its bloody origins[7] and they were aiming for a "Mature" rating, contrary to the "Teen" rating attained by the previous game. He even questioned "going too far" and showed concern about crossing the limit to "Adults Only" rating.[8][9] It has been said that online for Mortal Kombat will become a main priority [10], which GamePro editors called a "smart move"[7], and in January 2010 a screenshot of Ed Boon's personal PSN ID was published, which suggested that online testing of Mortal Kombat was underway.[11] Dan Forden is expected to return as the music composer for the game.[12] The game was revealed on June 10, 2010, and is expected to release sometime in 2011.[13] A trailer was released on that day, which showed the game returning to a 2D plane of fighting, with other new features including a tag team mode.[14] Confirmed Characters: Sub-Zero Raiden Shao Kahn Johnny Cage Nightwolf Reptile Mileena Kung Lao Sektor

Furthermore, a friend of mine did some research on the trailer, and it's not actually a trailer, but a short film. It was a director's (I think the one who directed "Blood & Bone", who Michael Jai White and the guy who was Johnny Cage were in as well) pitch to Paramount I believe to get production money to make a movie "re-make" of sorts. I suppose it was given the blessing by Ed Boon, but since obviously the series itself is going back to it's roots-not a bad thing, either-the film may not actually happen.
It would be awesome though if it did.

Yea, I read the same thing about it being a short film. A damn good short film. If Paramount doesn't give them money to produce said movie, they'd be stupid.
