Following a previous segment, a familiar set up is seen. A barely lit room nearly devoid of all sources of light. From the distant darkness, a familiar, raspy, morbid voice speaks.
What defines a hero? The answer to that question takes many forms. But there's only one true answer to that. Victory. For who is to tell the generations to come after them the tale of their victory then the heroes? History is written by the victors. The heroes. The patriots. Victory is the ultimate prize in war. But it's cost is high, and it's cost is heavy. So is it truly worth it to be a hero? A patriot? A victor? Are you willing to pay the cost of attaining absolute victory? 'Tis a question even the most battle tested warrior asks before taking the battlefield. So I wonder...do you ask yourself that question before you go into battle...Kris Cade.
He steps forward into the dim light. His pale visage partially visible.
You, a man with so much to lose. A man who claims to be a beacon of justice. The figurative "Punishment of God." What are you willing to pay for victory? Are you willing to crush a man's will to fight. To crush a man's hopes, desires and dreams. To wear his blood on your fists. You, a man with so, so much to lose. Friends. Family. Prestige. You fashion yourself a warrior in the vein of the Samurai of Japan. But they too knew the cost of victory. They lived by the credo that to draw one's sword, it cannot be sheathed until it's tasted blood. Are you willing to draw your sword and duel with a man with no reservations of destroying anything...and everything. We soon shall see. You and I are two ends of the same spectrum, Kris Cade. Justice and anarchy. Order and chaos. Light and dark. So very different, yet so very similar. I will see your resolve. I will test your mettle. I will determine what price...you are willing to pay. Victory is the prize. Let us see who shall attain it.
In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.
He steps back into the shadows following his grim words, and the dim light fades to total darkness. Madness then returns to ringside.
Buzz: I...I think he just challenged Kris Cade to a match. I don't envy anyone who comes in the line of sight of that man. He still gives me the heeby-jeebies.
Matt: If there is any man I'd put money on in being able to solve the riddle that is Khryst, it's Kris Cade. One thing is for certain, that match is not going to be for the feint of heart.
The next scheduled match then begins.
