The following promo takes place during the TakeDown Premiere show.
The sound of Magnus Von Schwartz's theme song begins to play over the arena. A mixed reaction comes from the capacity crowd for the straightforward competitor.
Goldman: Well, for those of you who don't know, this is Magnus Von Schwartz. Arguably the best grappler on the entire roster with a resume that reads like a who's who in the XWA.
Buzz: Yup. Some like him, some don't, but on either side of the coin, MVS is one of the most respected names in this industry today. He's in better shape in his early 50's than some wrestlers in their early 20's!!!
Goldman: And could probably out-wrestle them as well. He's not dressed for action though, so I'm guessing he's out here to send a message. Whatever it may be, you better be sure that whoever it's toward will have no choice but to listen.
MVS steps inside of the squared circle now, a crew member procuring a microphone for him to address the public, and one individual in particular.
So another season of the XWA is upon us, and as the show as they say gets on the road I find myself fathoming what exactly to do. At this point last year I was in fine form, a favorite to take the XWA Title from Syrus The Entertainer before he pulled quite the comeback. It seems ironic that through good fortune he finds himself back in the World Title hunt, only a victory away from becoming the pinnacle yet again. My day will soon come to hold that honor, but before that day comes to pass, there is an issue that I must rectify immediately.
It should be no surprise to any of you that my first championship in this company was the Pure Championship. One of the most prestigious and innovative titles in all the industry. It should be no surprise as well that I did so in grand fashion, ending at the time the longest title reign and winning streak in XWA history. I would hold the title for a respectable amount of time before a game young competitor by the name of Romeo Davis seized the opportunity to win it for himself. Now, I ask of you...what is there now to speak of the Pure Title? Hmm?
Absolutely nothing.
Stone faced as always, Magnus slowly paces the ring to continue to state his case.
The calibre of competition vying for that title has dwindled dramatically. Why, even the champion himself is man who I believe is only the champion now because he has not faced true opposition for that title. Blade Myers, there is a term called "paper champion" that befits you. It's not only because you've faced lackluster competition, but because you have not even actively sought worthy competition. The true mark of a champion lies in his will to defend his crown against the best. You my dear boy have failed to reach that mark...but that all changes now.
Starting tonight the Pure Title will mean more than just a second tier belt as it is that you have demoted it to. Starting tonight, the Pure Title will regain it's pride and prestige, it's honor and glory...because starting tonight, I...Magnus Von Schwartz will restore the title to it's former glory, after it is that I have systematically dismantled you.
He pauses for a moment.
Goldman: That's a clear cut challenge if ever I heard one.
It doesn't matter if it's tonight, Madness or whenever you choose to show your face from the shadows which you hide under. Your day of reckoning is soon to come. So too is the day of resurrection of the "purity" of Pure wrestling, as it is that I envision it to be. As far as I am concerned Blade, I am the embodiment of Pure wrestling. It's time to take my place proper on that throne, but first...the pretender to it must be swiftly removed.
Believe these words, Myers. You will be.
His theme begins to play once again as Magnus slowly sets the mic down to the mat. He adjusts the solid black tie of his solid black business suit and makes his march out of the ring as the fans soak in his biting, boastful and challenging words.
Buzz: Well I don't know if the Pure Champ's in attendance, but I do know that someone's gonna tell him about this for sure. He's just just been put on notice. Magnus wants that title, and I don't think he'll stop until he has it!
