It takes a Queen to know a Queen (Fury)

TakeDown's first show of the new year in underway, and as it comes back from a commercial, suddenly the sound of Kool & The Gang's "Celebrate" begins to play. Confetti drops from the rafters and nobody, not the fans or the announce team know what is going on.

Goldman: We're back on the air now, and uh...I really don't know what's going on here.

Buzz: Well, it's a celebration! Except we don't really know what to celebrate for just yet...

The answer soon comes though as Channelle emerges from backstage, all smiles as she made her way down to the ring. As the fans greet her with boos, Goldman weighs in.

Goldman: I see where this is headed now. If there's one person out there who has reason to celebrate right now, it would be Channelle after she basically played possum to become #1 contender for Jamie Fury's Diamond Title. Folks, it is what it is...and Channelle did in fact survive the Battle Royal at UNION, but there are a lot of people out there who're not too happy about how she did, and I'm one of them. As if she even cares though...

TakeDown fans, tonight is truly a night to celebrate! This is an absolutely awesome night, oh yes it is! I was happy enough when I heard that they were sending all of the charity cases and basket cases over to Overload...I mean, that'll make it so much easier for yours truly to rule supreme while all of those high-strung hags rip each other to bits.

And speaking of ruling supreme, that brings us to the other reason to celebrate tonight...my triumphant victory at UNION that guarantees me a shot for the Diamond Championship. A belt I must say that's spent waaaaaaay too much time on other women's waists. It's about time it comes back where it belongs, and Jamie...at Madness, I have all the confidence in the world that that is exactly what's going to happen.

The fans soon start to show their support for the champion. Channelle responds with a scowl.

I simply love how you all just go gaga over that woman. You all must have some sort of muscle-girl fetish, huh? Oh yeah, she's strong. Yeah, she's powerful. Yeah, she might be one of the most dominant female wrestlers in the world, but you wanna know what she's not? As smart, as savvy and as sinister as me. That's the problem with being the good girl Jamie...you have to follow the rules. You have to play by the book. I on the other hand play by my own rules and write the book as I go along. At Madness, that book's going to read "Channelle Valencia-two time Diamond Champion", and you know I can pull it off, don't you Jamie?

She grins...

You know because you saw what happened to Okami. Just when you think you've won...you're done. See, I have the mental game down pat way more than your physical game will ever be. I've got so many tricks up my sleeve it'll make your head spin, and I don't care what anyone thinks about me using them either. In the end, all that matters is that I get what I want, and right now...I want that belt back!

Her intentions made quite clear now, a response from the champion was inevitable as Jamie's theme song begins to play.

It was a new song that played as Fury made her TakeDown debut. The fans in attendance greeted the champion with a roar as she stepped out onto the stage in her street clothes, looking sexy but yet still professional as always. The tight ponytail was no more as she let all of her jet black, half Native-American hair flow over her broad shoulders. As was the first moment she appeared this season, the coveted title belt was nestled between one of those shoulders and her hand.

Goldman: And here comes the reigning Diamond Champion Jamie Fury! As confident as Channelle sound, you gotta believe partner that Fury is just as confident and just as focused on this match to come at Madness.

Buzz: Absolutely! Just look at her, I don't think she's ever been in better shape, and that's saying something cuz she's an amazon!

Fury had made her way down the aisle now, high fiving and greeting the fans en route to the ring where her challenger awaited inside. She stepped in where a mic was handed to her and prepared to respond.

I have to give you credit where it's due Channelle, you're confident. If you don't think that you're good enough to win, you've already lost. That of course has never actually been the problem with you though. The problem is your attitude. You walk around here calling yourself a "queen" as if it's pre-destined that you become the Diamond Champion, when the only way you prove you deserve this title is by earning it against the best competition there is.

On TakeDown, as far as the women go...I am the best competition there is! You think you can outsmart me? You might be right, but that's not to say that I can't outsmart you either. Obviously you haven't got things as thought out as you say if all you think I do is rely on my power. I guess you haven't learned from the last times that there's so much more to my gameplan than meets the eye.

Indeed Jamie was as focused as ever before.

I really do hate to sound cliche here, but just as you say you'll do whatever it takes to win this belt, I'll do whatever it takes to keep it. This isn't just any match we're walking into at Madness, Channelle...this is for the Diamond Championship! If you think just tricks are gonna win you this thing, you've got another thing coming...preferably a beating.

It's gonna take everything you've got and then some to beat me for this belt, and you know it just like everyone else here does. Most of them though don't think you have enough for that. I guess we're gonna have to see then.

And what really makes you think that I care what any of these drooling idiots in the audience think? All they're good for is lining our pockets with the green!

It's not as if Channelle was very popular to begin with, but that comment really infuriated the crowd. If not for Jamie being in the ring, they'd probably start tossing things into it.

But let's backtrack to something you said earlier though. This is not a just a normal match, that much I'll agree on. Let's make it not just a championship match either though. How about this champ, tonight you and me step into the ring one-on-one...and the winner of the match gets to pick any stipulation that they want. And when I say any...I mean ANY...no objections or nothing, and that stip will be added immediately to the match contract, no questions asked.

She grins again, trying to butter it up some more.

Just think, Jamie...you could stack the deck so high that there's no way I could win. All you risk is the chance that I might do the same. Since according to these people though there's no way I can beat you, what do you have to lose then? So how about it champ?

Hmm...

Jamie scratches her head.

...what do you guys think?

As she asks the crowd for their opinion, the answer she gets is a mixed. Some want her to put Channelle's foot in her mouth while others don't want her to take the risk.

Goldman: What do you think, partner?

Buzz: We all know Channelle's a conniving bitch...if I were the champ I wouldn't risk being put in a bad situation.

Fury nods and puts the mic to her lips once more.

You know what Channelle? I accept your proposal. In fact, you won't have to wait until later tonight to know what my stipulation will be. If I win tonight, our match at Madness will have a special clause put into it that says that if I win that match by pinfall or submission, you will not get another shot at the Diamond Title for the rest of the entire year!

Buzz: Oh snap!!!

The fans really got a kick out of that. Now it was Jamie who was grinning, as Channelle's reaction was naturally an uncomfortable one.

Goldman: Could you imagine if Channelle could never get another shot that the Diamond Title this year? There would go that "spotlight" she's always craving.

I'll give you a chance to back out of your "proposal" if you want.

What we had here now was a classic case of risk vs. reward. Indeed, Channelle was not to pleased with Jamie's stipulation, but obviously whatever was rolling around in her dark imagination was going to be something just as sinister.

No...nope. I'm not gonna back out. If that's what you want, then that's what you'll get if...and I do mean IF...you beat me. But if I beat you tonight, what I want is...

She paused for a moment to let everyone anticipate whatever her response would be, then smiled her evil smile and shook her head.

...Uh-uh! You don't think I'm gonna spoil it now do you? You're all going to have to wait until later tonight to find out. Jamie, all I can say to you darling is that I hope you're ready to go, because you're going to be in for quite a workout.

Hmm-Hmm...see you later tonight then.

Her music begins to play now, and Channelle is all smiles as she steps out of the ring, leaving Jamie to wonder what might she have gotten herself into.

Buzz: See? I told you! I know she's got something devious planned, I just know it! Jamie just made a mistake, man.

Goldman: We're just gonna have to see what develops in this situation then later tonight when Channelle & Fury face off!
