Following the 1st break of the show, Stan O'Malley stands backstage with Lucy Black.
Lucy: That was one hell of a heated exchange between Lionel Xander and Jimmy Ames to kick things off. Between that, and the words exchanged between Scott O'Dell and Jayson Jones, it's safe to say the tone is being set for Overload quite fast, wouldn't you say?
Without a doubt. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Overload is "The" brand in XWA. Don't wanna rub it in Roach's face, but from top to bottom Overload is stacked with competitors who aren't afraid to get some dirt under their nails. I wanna touch a little on the O'Dell Vs. Jones match in a bit, but that's not the only thing I want to address here.
Oh?
Not a chance. This is the season premiere of Overload. We're goin' BIG tonight. As many know, the 1st Overload PPV takes place at the end of May, Vendetta. We already know that it'll be Jimmy Ames defending the Global Title against Lionel Xander in the main event. But there's another singles title here on Overload, the No Limits Title. While Sushi-X might be enjoying his 1st career run as a champion, and in my opinion his win was well deserved, it's time he proved he's earned the right to be called a champion. So right here, right now, I'm announcing who his 1st challenger is gonna be. A man who Sushi is more then familiar with. Kelon "JAH" Thomas. There's unfinished business between them from the whole TNN fallout, so I figure what better way for them to settle their differences then in the ring, for the No Limits Title. But we won't have to wait until Vendetta to see them get it on, no no no...if Ames and Xander are gonna tune it up tonight, so are they. Sushi-X and Kelon JAH, one on one, tonight.
The fans cheer the announcement as Lucy adds...
Not wasting any time throwing the guys into the fire, are we?
No ma'am. But I'm not stopping there. We're also gonna have something I'm calling "The Battle Of The Future". Four of the best, brightest and talented young guns in the sport, in one ring. Sean Trueth, Finesse, Devon Wales and Brian Yang. And to sweeten the pot some, the winner of that match, gets next for the No Limits title. Now, let's get back to the matter of O'Dell and Jones. We heard what Scott had to say last week loud and clear. It's apparent that he wants me gone from XWA. When I came along, his free ride ended, and I understand him being a bit bitter about it. But I'm about sick and tired of his idol threats. Against my better judgment though, I'm not gonna touch that match. Jay-J can handle himself, and I trust whatever plan of action he has in place. What I don't trust, is the rest of Upper Echelon. But what I can promise them, is that soon...and I mean VERY soon, the game is going to be changed, and I doubt any evil plot O'Dell, Primo or Jasta can come up with will be able to weather the storm it brings. I'll leave it at that. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some more GMing to do over in Diamond Country.
Stand gives Lucy a nod, and takes leave of the scene. Overload returns back to ringside.
Travis: Leaving his stamp on the show as expected. HUGE announcements regarding the No Limits Division. Kelon JAH takes on Sushi-X tonight, and will challenge him for the title at Vendetta. And Trueth, Wales, Finesse and Yang do battle for a future shot against the winner. Can it get any bigger then it has?
Tony: The show's not over, my friend. I'm more then certain we'll see even more surprises as we go along.
