Saw it, and not excited about it. If anything, it'll just be like the last game. Pretty much the same game. Different setting and a couple of tweaks at best.  |

When they revealed GearsIII at GDC10, it got a lukewarm reception at best. That's never a good sign for a sequel. Granted, the footage they provided was obviously an early build of the game that didn't feature much of whatever they plan to add to the game. As far as the continuation of the story, I think it's safe to say they need to make GearsIII the final chapter. GearsII barely had much add on content, which I think hurt it, and GearsIII in the process. Whereas Xbox's other big game shooter Halo has add ons and spin off out the wazoo. That I feel is what will make or break GearsIII. You can have a strong multiplayer component, but if you fail to deliver in the solo campaign department, basically your game suffers as a whole.

If its anything like GOW 2. It will be the same game with a few new tweaks here, and a few tweaks there. And besides. If I really wanted to pad my Gamerscore. I'd go for something other then GoW lol. The last GoW games on single player alone barely give you 300 points. Rest is all online (which as of right now. I have no access to online gaming without a 'Gold' account). And honestly, as much as I would like to renew that. I probably won't be anytime soon. Just don't think I have it in me to spend another $50 on a year of online gaming when I can play online for free on the PS3. Free>$50, Nuff Said ! |
