The UNION show continued onward, and backstage in the "interview area" stood Takedown's roaming backstage reporter...

Fabiola here everyone, and my guest at this time is The GOLD*, Robby Sylk!

Sylk appears on the screen for the first time since losing the GrandSlam Title in 2009, and the look on his face isn't one of a man who's happy about the things that have gone on since then.

So Robby, you like everyone else is here to get a taste of things to come in 2010...do you have any thoughts on the matches that're going on tonight?

Does the Pope take a dump in the woods? You're damn right I have thoughts...but I'm not here to share thoughts. I'm not here to make statements. I'm here to tell TakeDown, no...the XWA...what's going down in 2010. See, you all of the sudden have these phantom staffers showing up left and right. Where the hell does this Dane guy come from anyway? Well, I'll cut through the fat and get to the one point he made that I agree with, the fact that upper management seems to have this thing with hand-picking who they want in the spotlight.

Take a look at the unification bout for the "Undisputed" XWA Title. It took that punk Kris Cade three times to take the GSC from me, and he had to have GM Roachie have his back the whooooooooole way, basically gift wrapping it to one of the "poster boys" of XWA. look at him...straightedged lifestyle, no booze, no drugs, brand new daddy...he's a regular role model for the kiddies. And then you got "Terrific" Tommy Tryton, God...his NAME screams clean cut white boy! Hard working guy, fighting champion, blah, blah, blah. See they knew that on my worst night, I could kick either one of their stinking mouths right down their throat...which is EXACTLY why they did everything in their power to make sure that Robby Sylk was not in this match. So he's not...

Er...you sound...jealous!

At that point you could see a vein pop out of Sylk's forehead...

JEALOUS!? Listen sister, I am the heart and soul of TakeDown honey...the one man who's kept this ship afloat while everyone else flaked out or got taken out. I'm the big game player, the highlight of the night...and I'll prove it to anyone, anytime, any place! I'm not just a championship contender...I'm THE championship contender, and at the TakeDown premiere I will prove it. Who do we have in this number one contender's match tonight?

MG, Genesis, Kayn, Magnus, Syrus and Dan Ripley.

Well, whoever wins this lil shindig tonight, I want one on one at the premiere...and it's not to do anything else but to prove to the world, and most importantly to whoever walks out tonight with the title that their championship reign, and run...is very much "disputed", and that they aren't facing a challenger yet, until they step in the ring with one of the men who are going to rule TakeDown this year...and always have...me!

Um, "one of"? Interesting that you're talking in plural. Any special reason?

Of course. Let me introduce to you my new business partner. A man, the man who is the real future of professional wrestling. If I'm the straw that stirs the drink, then he's the coaster holding the glass. Mr. Jeremy Pendelton, the third.

And as Sylk announced the name, in stepped the XWA sophomore to the scene.

Jeremy steps in, dressed to the nines in a slick British-cut business suit, his hair in a short ponytail. He smirks at Fabiola as she looks over in his direction in a bit of disbelief.

What's the matter? Didn't you know that birds of a feather flock together? This man standing here is a man after my own heart. A man who exemplifies the very level of excellence that so many say they're on, but aren't even close. A multi-time champion, winner of some of the most grueling matches in XWA history against some of the top stars in the company. Of course, there can be only a small few who truly are the top of the top, the cream of the crop...and if Kris Cade or Tommy Tryton think that they're that, they're sorely mistaken.

Tommy, your immaculate championship run thus far has all been predicated on an eyelash. An eyelash that it took for you to beat me in your very first defense. Heh, just as easily as that (snapping his finger) the World Title could've been resting on my shoulder right at this moment, but fate swung your way that night, and it seems as if she's been on your side ever since.

Robby here wants to make it a point to anyone and everyone just who are the shot callers on TakeDown, and I'm all for it. I say, let's make this really interesting. Let's make it at the Premiere show a tag team match. The Undisputed XWA Champion and the #1 Contender, versus the true Gold Star Standard of the XWA and the true future of professional wrestling. We'll make our point crystal clear right from the very beginning, and everyone else can follow our lead from that point on.

That was a very enticing and intriguing offer put forth by Mr. Pendelton, and Robby was liking the sound of it.

That's sounds good to me right there.

That would be one stellar main event too!

And that's a nice choice of words, Fab. "Stellar" is what being a star is all about. Make no mistakes, if any big happens on TakeDown...you already know that we're gonna be right there in the thick of it. That's just the way it is.

Sylk eyes zero in on the camera at that point, and he's got one more thing left to say.

Fight hard tonight, gentlemen. The world's gonna be watching, but it's not them you're gonna have your eyes out for...it's us. Soak in the spotlight while you have the chance, because really soon it's gonna be right back where it belongs, and all will right in the world yet again.

Now it's Sylk who smirks. He and Jeremy nod and then walk off in the same direction, leaving Fab by her lonesome.

Well, it looks like things are picking up steam really quick back here guys. Let's get back to you at ring side then!
