Union returns from a break to the XWA Tag Team champions Ray & Matt Burns. The brothers hold the XWA Tag Team titles draped over their shoulders. Ray begins the promo.
Three years ago, my brother and I came to XWA with a mission. Prove to the world we're the best Tag Team on the planet. And within one year of being here, we did exactly that. We defeated The Bruzas, who at the time no one could beat, to become the XWA Tag Team champs. And since then, we replaced The Bruzas on account that no one has been able to, or can beat us.
There's been The Mobstaz. There's been TNN. There was The Bruzas when we beat them for the belts, and when we beat them again in the rematch. There's been The Strike Force who we beat twice in a row. Face it, there's no team under contract in XWA good enough to match what we bring to the dance. There's no team in the world good enough. It's not so much that we win, it's the fact that we win convincingly. We leave no doubt in anyone's mind that we take our craft seriously.
So here we are now. 2010. And what has XWA done to give us new competition? *heh* Not a damn thing. They've added one new team to the roster. A pair of spoon fed rich boys who have pretty fancy lookin' gear, but probably can't wrestle anything worth their trust funds. Oh yea, then there's the Dooleys, who can't seem to stick around long enough in a season for them to even be relevant. So here's how we see it. It seems to my brother and I that in order to get a decent challenge, we're going to have to go outside of the box. If you think you've got the good to challenge us, do it. Doesn't matter if you're a Tag Team or just two singles wrestlers lookin' to get over. Hell, it doesn't even matter if you're under contract in XWA. We're sick and tired of Tag Team wrestling in this company being thrown under the bus. So if management isn't willing enough to take it seriously, we'll go ahead and spearhead things ourselves.
The scene then goes to ring side.
Gomez: Bold words from the Tag Team champions, Travis. I've never quite agreed with the attitude of The Burns Brothers, but they make a valid point.
Rose: More then a valid point. In Ray and Matt Burns you have a well oiled machine. Without a doubt the best Tag Team I've seen compete. But when a sword is left unused, it gets dull. I applaud, no...commend The Burns Brothers for taking the bull by the horns like this. It might be the beginnings of a Tag Team Renaissance this company's been in desperate need of for years. It's going to be interesting to see what the response will be from the rest of the division, as well as anyone else who might look to take them up on their challenge.
