Bio:
For the man nicknamed "The Choosen", the road to the XWA has been an arduous one. Jake began training to become a wrestler after High School, with dreams and aspirations of one day becoming a household name in the sport. His coaches noticed a work ethic in Jake that very few young superstars have, which is where the nickname came from. Possessing speed, athleticism and power, Jake was able to create a wrestling style all to himself. One that mixes classic wrestling skill new age wrestling artistry. As he came up the ranks in the north east, Jake quickly built a reputation as one of the hardest working young men in wrestling, a fact that showed every time he stepped in the ring. This gained him praise from fans and colleagues alike. Within his 1st year in the business, Slayde was already touted as being one of the next potential megastars of the sport.
But rather then immediately try to sign with a major wrestling organization, Jake opted to remain an independent wrestler, further honing his skill. He would travel the country working for a number of small wrestling promotions, racking up numerous titles along the way, and further cementing his place amongst the best young wrestlers in the world. After 2 1/2 years, it was getting to the point where Jake had to move to a major company, because there was little else for him to prove as an independent. By 2008, many companies had their eye on signing Jake, but in the end XWA would be the one that captured his attention due to it's immense popularity and the fact that contrary to previous notions, it was doing it's part to cultivate it's young talent as oppose to feeding them to the wolves. Towards the tail end of the 2008 season, Jake signed a deal with XWA to compete for one of it's independent affiliates as per his request. Jake wanted to make absolutely sure he was at the top of his game when he made his professional debut.
And in 2009, he was. A split of two matches against Chris Dynamite late in the season gave the fans a small taste of what Jake Slayde will bring to the XWA. Now with a full season ahead of him, Jake intends on answering all questions as he only knows how to, with actions...not words.
