[Sushi-X]

After a long promotional tour for XWA following XGames3, Sushi-X was back home in Chicago for the first time in months. Being a champion isn't easy, but it sure is fun, he thought. He was tired, yet more energized than ever. But something was bothering him. He felt he still had one piece of business to take care of. While he unpacked, he looked at a black shirt. The one that was given to him while he was at a hospital last summer. The black TNN shirt in a size XL. He looked at it for a moment when he suddenly got a knock on the door.

[Romeo Davis]

The man that was at the door was Romeo Davis. What could he possibly be doing in Chicago, let alone at Sushi-X’s place? Well Romeo had been looking for a place to live. He had been living in an apartment back in California near his parents but he decided that it was now time to look for a house and get settled down. When he was younger he loved when he would take trips to Chicago to visit his grandparents. He enjoyed the area so much that he thought about living there. He had two choices. He was either going to live in Miami or Chicago. Two very different places but they were places he wanted to live. So while in Chicago Romeo had found out Sushi-X lived in the area. The two have spoken a couple times before in the past so they could be considered friends. So the knock was made and Romeo walked in.

“Sushi-X, my dude. What’s goin’ on bro?”

[Sushi-X]

A pleasant surprise indeed. The two haven't seen each other since the draft, and the Chicago ninja was concerned for Romeo's well-being since his self-imposed sabbatical.

Haha! Romeo, Romeo, what brings you here Romeo? Come in, come in brother. What brings you here?

[Romeo Davis]

“Not much bro. I been lookin’ for a place to live for some time now. I was thinkin’ of getting’ a place either here in Chicago or down in Miami. Right now I’m leanin’ toward Miami. I heard that ya’ lived in the area so I thought it would be cool to come by and check if you were around. Clearly it shows that you are here. What’s been goin’ on? Fill me in bro.”

[Sushi-X]

Dude, I haven't even been home an hour yet. It's been quite the wild ride the last few weeks. I... I got a belt.

Sushi-X grabs the XWA No Limits Championship belt from his bag and hands it over to Romeo to look.

I've been on the road a lot lately since being the champ, especially when you beat the man that held the belt for like fifteen months. Everybody's looking for ya. Finally get to unwind for a bit, man.

So you're looking for a place, huh?

[Romeo Davis]

“Yeah man saw when ya’ won that match and took that belt away from Brian Yang. I knew that is was gonna happen eventually. I jus’ didn’t know who was gonna be the one to take that dude down. Congrats to you bro.”

Romeo looks around Sushi-X’s place a bit before responding to his next question.

“Yeah I’ve been lookin’ for a place for a few months now. I gotta tell ya,’ it’s some tough stuff man lookin’ for a place to live. I jus’ think I have my heart set on Miami right now. I jus’ wanna experience the whole east coast thing. I’ve lived on the west coast for a while and spent some time in the mid-west. I donno yet though. I’m gonna figure somethin’ out sooner rather than later. I think that’s enough talkin’ ‘bout me though ha ha. What’s goin’ on wit’ that black shirt you been starin’ at since I got here?”

[Sushi-X]

Sushi-X paused for a moment. Of course he was referring to that black TNN shirt he's been carrying around for a while.

Oh, you mean this shirt? Well, I got this while I was the hospital after my inferno match last summer. MG wanted em to recruit some new members. Never really had the time with me focusing on that.

That thing was the XWA No Limits Championship belt. He committed the last few months of his life to his pursuit of and holding on to the title. Everything else was secondary.

But I got a little blessing at XGames. And I plan on taking advantage of it real soon.

By the way, I really wouldn't recommend Chicago in the dead of winter, though. Summer time though, there aren't many places in the world better than here.

[Romeo Davis]

“Well what I do gotta say to ya’ bro is that you shouldn’t get involved wit’ MG in any kinda’ way. I’m sure ya’ remember what happened real early at the beginning of the last season? Something that involved you, a bat or sledgehammer, and my boy Val. That guy jus’ makes people do his dirty work. He knows that f he were to even try he’d get his ass beat in a heartbeat. Trust me on that one bro.”

Romeo then stopped speaking for a moment using that time to catch his breath. He then continued speaking on the other topic Sushi-X brought up.

“I hear what you are sayin’ ‘bout Chicago in the winter time. I’m not the type of dude that enjoys the cold weather. I’m all ‘bout that sun bro. I think I’m gonna just get a place in Miami. Since the 2010 season in the XWA is ‘bout to start up soon I think I’m jus’ gonna wait till the next offseason of probably purchase the house sometime during the season. For right now I’m jus’ chillin’ bouncin’ around from place to place.”

Romeo whips out his iPhone after he spoke because he had gotten a text while he was speaking. He looked to see who it was from. It was from his sister saying that she was mad that he didn’t visit her while he was in Miami. He quickly texted her back saying that he would visit her soon. He then returned his attention to Sushi-X.

“You ready for the upcoming season bro?”

[Sushi-X]

Sushi-X thought of that moment a year ago. The one with the baseball bat. He was ordered to take out Val Romero, Jr., but couldn't do so. Still to this day, he regrets being involved. Quickly, his mind turns to the coming season.

Of course I'm ready. And I'm gonna do something big to start it up. BIG. By the way, you'll enjoy Miami, brah. I know I did. Stayed an extra week or two after the season ended. Let's say I did more than train and promo work.

[Romeo Davis]

“Aight bro, I can’t wait to see what you’re gonna do when the season starts. Don’t be one of them people that say they are gonna do big things but when it comes time they choke. Ha ha, I mean you are the XWA No Limit’s champion so I know that you ain’t gonna disappoint when the time comes. Me, I’m not gonna try and predict what is gonna happen next. I’m jus’ gonna go wit’ the flow and get things done. I mean I got myself a plan ‘cause like you, I wanna make this a big year for me also. I have been itchin’ to get back in the ring. Last season wasn’t good at all for me bro. I missed a lot of action due to injuries and I jus’ didn’t perform like I know I could. Now I’m feelin’ good. My wrist feels great and my neck even better. I’m getting’ my dreads back and I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m back and I’m ready to go man. Ya’ never know Sushi, there could be a point in time where we could cross paths in the ring now that I’m on the Overload roster. That’ll be a good match for all to see.”

Yeah, true. I'm sure you'll give me a great match. And after what I went through last season, I am gonna deliver big things. I mean, I beat probably the best pound-for-pound wrestler of this generation on two continents. I've never felt better or more confident.

Anyways, you're welcome to stay here until the season begins. I have a small workout thingie over there. It's not much, but it'll do until you can get to a gym.

Sushi-X put the black TNN shirt back in the bag with a reminder to bring the bag when the season opens. Just exactly what he had in mind for that shirt? And what was this big thing he was talking about? No time to worry about that now. He still had some unpacking to do.

[Romeo Davis]

Romeo knew that after Sushi-X put the TNN shirt back in his bag that something big may go down at the beginning of the season. What was it going to be? He could stand there and try and think of many different things that could occur but there was no way he was going to do that.

“Thanks bro for the offer to stay here man. I really would stay but I jus’ promised my sister that I’d go back down to Miami to visit her since I didn’t do so when I was already down there a couple days ago. I can’t believe that I forgot that she moved down there a year ago for work. But yeah man, I see that ya’ got a lot of work to do before the season start so I’m ‘bout to head out and fly back to Miami. I may just stay there for the remainder of the off-season or I’ll probably head back to New York to get more trainin’ in before the start of the season. I’ll catch ya’ later bro.”

Romeo pounds fists with Sushi-X before heading out the door. Miami was the next stop on his list.
