Bio:
Marisol Cardinale's evolution in pro wrestling has come full circle. Once an inexperienced rookie who showed much potential, she has emerged into one of the most exciting stars in an XWA ring, male or female.
Marisol began wrestling as a promise to her bed-stricken father who was a wrestling legend in her native Columbia, shunning a lucrative career in modeling in the process. With little experience aside from her own memories of her father in the ring, she took to the business and saw the high and low points of it very quickly. Eventually she would find her way to the XWA, and her career would pick up from there.
After her first year in the sport, she traveled to Japan, one of the epicenters of wrestling and somehow convinced one of the nation's greatest female competitors, "The Tokyo Typhoon" Tadako Anenokoji, to take her in as a student. Through a rigorous training, Mari's skill and know-how grew immensely, as did the respect she had for the sport. Tadako instilled in her the sense of honor and pride that nearly every Japanese wrestler has towards their craft. She took both back to the XWA in 2009 and was instantly faced with two different people who had neither honor, respect or pride in her opinion.
These two women were Channelle, whom she already had some history with and a newcomer named Tiffany Masterson, who she would spend much of the year feuding with. Ironically, both women would join forces late in the year, a fact that Marisol is well aware that she may someday have to contend with.
The tail end of the season saw a recurring "curse" however rear it's head when she was chosen to face one of her close friends Jamie Fury for the coveted Diamond Championship. She fell short of victory, marking the 4th time she's failed to capture a title in the XWA. While this is indeed a discouraging trend, Mari remains confident that one day her time will come.
As the stage is set now for the new campaign, Mari comes in with even more experience and ability. She's more athletic now and has incorporated many more moves inspired by the high flying artistry of lucha libre. Will it be enough to take her to the next level?
