By a friggin virus. Happened a few days ago. I forget the viruses full name, but I know it had "2010" in there. It disguised itself as a windows update and yeah... Bye-bye laptop. Took it to the store today to get it looked at/hopefully repaired. The guy couldn't get to the windows start up screen and charged me 70 bucks just for the little bit he did (no more than pressing the "On" button). Needless to say that pissed me right the fuck off. So, the only computer I had was my desktop, which is a piece of junk in comparison to my laptop (why couldn't it had died instead?)
Anyway, so after he charges me for doing nothing, he offers to sell me a desktop (price of 750-ish). I rejected because, well, I didn't have the money to do so as I'm not currently employed. I make small change here and there but yeah.
So, after I rejected, I came home and went to bed. Well, rather, I laid down for a nap and while I was napping, my girlfriend, went back to the store and bought the desktop. So, when I woke up I had a pleasant surprise waiting for me. I told her she needs to stop spending money like that on me but her reply is always "I always have the extra money to spend, so why not?" I've come to the realization that arguing with her is like arguing with a wall. You can do it all day but yer not going to get anywhere with it. lol So, here I be on my new desktop... with its huge screen that I'm not at all used to. XD
Its definitely better than both my laptop and desktop combined, that's for sure. And and and... the 920gb of HD space and 6GB of RAM is a nice factor too. XD
However, the only downside is my installation disc for my capture card program is NOT compatible with the OS (Windows 7) so I'm going to have to save up for Studio 14, I guess? Not even sure if that one is compatible either to be honest. Haha. So, as of right now I'm capture card-less, I suppose? Not unless any of you have a solution to that? :S
