A few segments into the show, we're treated to the arrival of Overload GM Stan O'Malley into the arena. In his hands he holds a clipboard, which signaled there where many things to be addressed before he was done.
Tony: And here comes Stan O'Malley to the ring, and with purpose. This should be good.
Stand enters the ring, is handed a mic, and wastes no time delivering his message.
Ladies and gents, tonight we have a show fitting for a city as great as Miami to play host. A card stacked full of matches that will bring a close to the 2009 season with a bang. It all ends with The Last Dance for the World Title, but there is plenty of action to take place tonight before that illustrious contest. Tonight, in easily what's becoming on of the most classic rivalries in this company's history, we will see a rematch for the No Limits Title, as the new champion Sushi-X fresh off of ending the longest title reign in XWA history, will defend against the former champion, and pound for pound maybe the best wrestler to ever step foot in a ring, "The Dragon" Brian Yang!!!
Matt: That's HUGE!!! They put on a show of athleticism at Devil's Night, it's going to be interesting to see how either man plans to top that performance.
Also on the card for tonight, Two open challenge matches. At present, neither the GrandSlam or National titles have #1 contenders...SOOOOO...tonight will be a special 1st come, 1st serve open challenge. Both Kris Cade and Jimmy Ames are backstage, dressed to work and waitin' for opponents. So to one lucky guy on the Takedown and Overload roster respectively, all you need to do is stake your claim, and the match is yours. Speaking the National Title, as I'm sure many of you fans have heard, 2010 will see some major changes to the title landscape of XWA. And while tonight Jimmy Ames has no challenger, next season should he come out of tonight with the title in tow, he won't have to wonder who his 1st challenger will be. Nor will the man who steps up to challenge him tonight should that man win. Because tonight, 6 men will be stepping in this ring in what I call the "OVERLOADED Battle Royal". Who ever is left standing in this ring at the end, is the first #1 contender for 2010. And the six men who'll be competing are...
Osiris Alston
Van Hayden
Lionel Xander
Ryan Blaze
Johnny Aces and
!!!JONNY PUNCH!!![/font]
Willy: Now DAS'WASSUP!!! 6 guys like that all in the ring at once? That's sure to make for some XGames highlights fa'sho!
But wait folks, the title hits keep coming. In light of the way the scheduling for the XWA 2009 season went, we had to cancel two of our major Diamond events, Girl Fight and the Summer Solstice match. However, we did have the Boot Camp match at war games, of which if we all remember, Ms. Marisol Cardinale won for the 2nd year in a row. So in light of that, there will be no Diamond Conflict match tonight. Instead, we will see something we haven't seen in a long, long time here in XWA. The Diamond Title defended in a match where it's all about sportswomanship and competition, as Mari will go toe to toe with the reigning champ, fresh off of getting that October monkey off her back, Jamie Fury!!!
Tony: Pardon the pun, but that's gonna be a SENSATIONAL Diamond Title match! Get it, Sensational? That's the name of their group...The Sensationals...
Buzz: Leave the witty one-liners to the pros, Gomez.
The other two Women's titles will be up for grabs tonight as well. The details on those matches are forth coming, but we all will know what they are soon enough. Which leads me to the most important piece of info for me personally. And that info involves Upper Echelon.
Boos from the fans spill out at the very name of the group.
I know the feeling, folks. Needless to say, the troops didn't do so well against O'Dell, Jasta and Primo at Devil's Night, and that was my fault. I made a miscalculation in thinking locking Jay-J, Adam and Osh in a chamber with those three would do well, but I forgot to take into consideration that the three of them in that match were teaming up for the very 1st time, whereas O'Dell, Jasta and Primo have been a pack of wolves for months now. Tonight, I remedy that mishap. Because tonight fellas, you all are going one on one against them. It's gonna be Osh Vaughn Vs. Bryan Jasta once again...in a 1ST BLOOD match. And we all know how well their last 1st Blood match went for Jasta, Adam Devlin Vs. Primo Valiante in a Pure Rules match, and last but not least, Jayson Jones Vs. Scott O'Dell in a LAST MAN STANDING match!!!
Everyone in the arena was boomed in cheer of the final batch of announced matches.
Oh yes, I almost forgot fellas. Should either of you or the rest of your Upper Echelon cohorts decide they wanna get involved in any of your matches, before, during OR after, well...the person in that match will be suspended WITHOUT pay for the 1st 3 months of the 2010 season, as stated IN WRITING, right here on this contract in my hand, by both the VP of XWA Rodolphe Gallas AND the president Carmella Blackheart.
Tony: Now that's proving the pen is mightier then the sword alright. It's going to be real interesting to see how O'Dell and company plan to counter this.
Not even a few seconds pass before the Upper Echelon theme begins to play.
Buzz: Looks like we won't have to wait to find out the answer to that one!!!
Stan turns to the stage and scowls as Upper Echelon make their way into the arena.
