I'm using Windows Media Maker for mine, but I'm also running XP. I don't know how Vista works with it.

I would say maybe check the Pinnacle site for any new updates for Windows 7, download and install them, then try and use WMM. That's my best guess. EDIT: Found this after doing a quick search, hope it helps. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqA4XQbljD0&feature=related

Thank goodness I found it. I just bought me a capture device today and it came with Pinnacle Instant DVD Recorder.

Also check out Debut Video Capture www.nchsoftware.com/capture/It's free to use (Download the free version of course) and offers a HUGE capture window. Of course it's optimized for higher performance rigs, so if you're running 512 RAM (like me) you won't be able to use it for anything more then image capturing. But if you've got a more capable PC, you can capture footage in real time with a big viewing window using this program. Only draw back is that: A: It captures video in an uncompressed state, so the actual files are gonna be GINORMOUS. (15 Minutes for footage = 200+MB) B: You have to import the captured footage to your video editing software of choice, Studio, WMM, Power DVD, etc. I have no idea how it works on 7, but 3X has been using debut on Vista since season 2 without any real issues, so I would imagine it would run similarly on 7.

I could never get Debut working with my Dazzle on Vista 64... then one time I used it for recording Windows Media Player to use as a background in my design portfolio and it went choppy as hell... on a rig with 4 gigs of DDR3 RAM and 1Gig VRAM.
