Genesis received word earlier shortly before Gallas made the "official announcement" that he was going to be one of the six participants in the brutal, yet very vicious 'Devil's Playground' match up. Genesis is entering the match for the 2nd time in back-to-back years. Last year, he entered the bout as the first #1 entrant. Lasting long enough for all six men to enter before suffering a major knee injury that eliminated him from the competition.
Needless to say, Genesis thought he had seen the last of his XWA World Championship opportunities. But fortune has smiled upon him on this day. As he is given a '2nd Chance', so to speak. As he re-enters the Playground in hopes to capturing the XWA World Heavyweight Championship. A belt that he has busted his ass for to earn in the last couple of years or so.
Last year, he was just excited and appreciative to be in the contest. After all, you have to be damn good at what you do in this business to even earn a spot in the Devil's Playground.
So while being in the match again was very satisfying. This time, he wasn't going to let anyone or anything stop him. Tonight, he was going for all the marbles. To prove that even a "veteran" of the squared circle can still be that damn good !
Tonight, ladies and gentleman. I, Brandon Payne. aka 'The King of Controversy'. aka, "Wrestling's Elite", aka, "XWA's Combatant Xtraordinaire" for 2008 enters the Devil's Playground once again.
Its quite obvious that I haven't had the best of luck lately. As seen in the epic encounters (no pun intended) with one, Scott Epic. Getting one good victory over him while he swept the rest of our series. However, the rest of the year has been very good to me.
Dante 'Atlas' Elsworth. Needless to say, I put the big man out of his misery and off the radar it seems. XCW ? The invading organization that promised to take over & conquer the XWA ? Where are they at now ? I'll tell ya where. Six feet under. Thanks to a little assist from XXL. We took out the XCW and put those guys out to pasture once & for all. Proving that when you mess with the XWA. You will get dealt with & we will always have the last laugh.
Fast forward to this moment in time. I step into the ring with 5 of the biggest, baddest, and meanest superstars to ever step foot onto XWA soil.
Men who are hungry, and eager to grab the very price that I ever so much desire. For when your the XWA World Champion ? You are truly on top of the wrestling world.
I've spent the last few weeks training to get back into fighting shape. Working out the few kinks that I've grown to have that have slowed me down over the years. Needless to say boys & girls. At the ripe young age of 24. I feel better then I ever have been in my career.
So Finese ? Tommy Tryton ? Van Hayden ? Syrus the Entertainer ? Pollox Troy ? I want you boys to be ready for war. For when we walk into battle. There will be bloodshed. Careers will be made, & broken. But only one man can walk out of the Playground as the XWA World Heavyweight Champion.
And with every little bit of gas left in this tank. I will see to it that it is I, whom walks out the World Heavyweight Champion.
For when the smoke has cleared. When the dust has settled in ? The "King" will be back on his throne !
