With the sudden influx of non-American talent to emerge in XWA, it was only a matter of time before of the modern day super-talents of Japan to decide upon making the move. That super talent is Mihashi Naozane. In his 4 years of being in the business, Naozane has amassed unparalleled fame and popularity in his homeland akin to a rockstar. Naozane is currently the Nippon Pro World Champion, as well as having made appearances in such companies as Pro Wrestling NEO and Alliance Wrestling Federation.
Naozane brings to the ring a unique take on the Japanese "Strong Style" of wrestling, incorporating speed, precision, power, athleticism and a raw aggression not usually seen in competitors from Japan. He sites some of his influences in wrestling as Antonio Inoki, Alex Fierhart Sr., Yoshi Togo and the late Mitsuhara Misawa. In many circles, Naozane is widely regarded as being a future legend in the sport, of wish he plans to further that legend in the XWA. An XWA Japan translator managed to get a word from Naozane to hear his take on the move in his own words.
"Yes, I am very excited to compete in the XWA. It has for years been the pinnacle of the sport, and it is the true test of a man's skill to succeed their. It has always been my dream to wrestle in American, if just for a brief time. I feel there is not a fair Japanese representation in American wrestling, and I aim to change that. I do not know of what path lay ahead of me in XWA, but I do know I will follow it with the pride of Japan behind me."
