Yeah... Yeah... Yeah. Scott Epic had beaten Genesis. Whoopty Freakin' Do !
That's the attitude Genesis had after the match. As he walked backstage. Where he's immediately handed a towel to help wipe the blood off his forehead by one of the crew members backstage.
As he proceeds to finish wiping the blood off. He walks back towards his dressing room. From which he would be in the process of getting his cut stitched up. Just another battle wound for Genesis as he looked at it. Nothing more, nothing less.
As this was happening. The trainer started asking Payne a few questions:
Trainer: Tough night out there Gen.
You can say that again. But either way, I won tonight.
Trainer: You won ?
Trainer: No offense intended... but you do know you did lost your match tonight with Scott Epic right ?
No, No, of course not. How could I lose ? Either way, it was a win, win situation.
Trainer: Care to explain that little analogy to me ? (laughs)
With pleasure. If I happened to win tonight and watch Epic's life blood drain at my very feet ? It would've been a huge victory for me. It would mean that XWA's next 'big superstar' wasn't exactly as big as he thought he was gonna be.
However...
If I lost ? Then I would win. Cause you see. I successfully put over Scott Epic tonight. I helped make XWA there next big superstar. They, nor Epic has to thank me for that. A simple pat on the back by yours truly and a hefty paycheck will be more then thanks enough.
By winning tonight, against one of the greatest superstars to have ever lived on gods green earth ? Epic has now been launched into superstar status. Skies the limit for that kid. I hope he does well and doesn't screw up along the way. Like me, he has quite the mouth on him.
Trainer: Interesting... so whats next for Genesis, huh ?
Not sure at the moment. We've got Devil's Night coming up soon. So I hope to make into the Devil's Playground for the 2nd year in a row. Or at least be involved in the event itself in some capacity. If not, no sweat. I'll take the rest of the year off. Lick my wounds, go back and begin my training. Cause next year. Everyone around the globe will feel my impact. Its one thing to make an impact on this sport. But its quite another to BE the impact.
Needless to say, brother. I'm coming back stronger and more level headed then I've ever been in my now upcoming five year career.
