Alright. If anyone hasn't paid attention to the last few posts (Which I hope everyone has.) but we will be excepting 2010 applications on November 24th. Anytime after that date, you can begin submitting your 2010 info to register for the season 4 of XWA, which will kick off March 2010. This effectively gives everyone a little over a month from the release of the new game to work on their caws for the PS3 version, and work on their formulas for the 360 and PS2 versions. (All info regarding caw submission for non-PS3 users is located here.) What this thread here is going to explain is the roster initiative that we're setting forth for the coming season.
XWA as of this post has 210 total accounts, with roughly 60% of that, some 115 accounts being the actual active roster. The remaining accounts are either staff controlled characters, NPCs or members on the Inactive Roster who were not deleted in the last account purge. 3X and I have decided that as far as the roster goes, for the most part we're good. We're not going to press the issue in trying to bring in more talent, because for the 1st time since 2007, we had a deep, varied and solid line up of characters. But that's not to say we're going to turn away people wanting to maybe bring in a new character. But that's it. A new character. What we are cracking down on is multiple characters being brought in. We know who here in XWA have multiple accounts. They have them because they have proven throughout the years that they can handle the work load. Every year since 2007 we've had a whole crap load of new characters come into XWA at the start of each season that are handled by people who already have existing characters here. And on average on 15% of them actually finish the season. So to negate that, only by way of ADMIN APPROVAL will existing members be allowed to bring a new character in. And it has to be approved by both me and Thr33x. If one of us says yay, and the other says nay, then you will not be permitted to bring in that new character. We're only likely not to approve if we know you are someone who has had a repeated history of inconsistency with your primary character. If you're one of the people who fall into that category (And you know who you are) your priority for season 4 should be building the person you have already on roster into a relevant character, not bringing in a new one.
But there will be an exception to that rule. Being if you plan on replacing an existing character with a new one. That you don't need permission or approval for. All you need to do is let myself and (not or AND) Thr33x know who you are replacing and why. In a couple special cases, we're allowing certain people to bring in characters new to XWA, but not "new" in recognition. They know who they are, and we'll take care of them on a one to one basis. As far as the potential new additions to XWA, what we are looking for if anything in 2010 are two things.
New Diamond Characters
Tag Teams
As of this post, we have only 6 Tag Teams, and only 4 of them consistently have competed against each other. The Diamond Division has also suffered from a lack of productivity, as a lot of the new females that were brought in back in 2008 went MIA completely in 2009. We need fresh characters in both divisions, and we feel it's a better idea to stay "In house" to fill the need. This doesn't mean we're going to turn away new handlers to XWA. Not at the least. But we're looking more towards the people we have here already helping to fill in the holes then to depend on new handlers who have to settle in and get used to how XWA works. Someone who's already been here and handled one or two characters (preferably you folks who only have one character) has a better feel for the what things go, and can hit the ground running. Again, all you need to do is provide myself and thr33x info on your character, and if we feel it will work, we'll approve it 95% of the time, IF you're someone we think can handle having dual accounts.
In the off chance that you'd like to handle a Diamond or Tag Team, but can't come up with your own idea, we can of course supply you with one. 3X and I have long since been sitting on female characters that have never so much as seen the light of day, so if we feel you have the needed tools to portray one of our unknowns, we'll happily allow you use of them here in XWA. It hasn't been the 1st time. As for Tag Teams, while we don't have many on reserve, they're fairly easy to make. So if you want to handle a Tag Team, and can supply a general idea of what you want them to look and fight like, we can accommodate you there as well. For the most part we're looking to fill in 10 spots for Diamonds, and 4 spots for Tag Teams. Anything more then those numbers is nice, but at the bare minimum, that's what we're looking to add in 2010.
As far as new male characters go, again...we won't turn away new ideas, but that's not what the priority is. And if new male characters are added, we prefer them being brand new characters. As in characters not seen in other feds, or anywhere else for that matter. We will be potentially be implementing a new idea next season that will facilitate brand new characters being brought in. So if you pitch to us a new male addition to the roster, he needs to not only be a spanking new character, he needs to have a strong enough and UNIQUE enough gimmick for us to OK him. If he's just another cocky, stuck up heel, chances are he's gonna get snubbed. We have more then enough of them. You new male ideas need to be unique and able to stand on it's own two feet for us to even entertain allowing you to bring them in. This doesn't apply to those who will bringing in characters that have existed elsewhere. As stated above, yours is a different initiative which will be handled on an individual level.
Overall, we're looking to build XWA's needs from within. Makes no sense to outsource for a bulk of new characters when we can simply ask of the existing member base to help fill in the gaps. Again, the bare minimum we're looking for is 10 new Diamonds and 4 new Tag Teams. New male characters will be excepted on the basis that their gimmicks are strong and unique enough to add a new dynamic to whatever show they're put on as opposed to just taking up space on our saves.
