If that's true then WWE is hypocritical as hell. How is this not good enough... but this is?

Hypocritical isn't even the word. Just plain stupid is a bit more fitting of this situation. As if it hasn't been obvious that WWE weren't too high on Punk because he was popular before he even set foot in the company, this just proves it yet again. I don't condone him for saying what he said though mind you, you should never compare yourself with someone else, but how WWE handles it in the usual fashion is as self-centered as you can get. And now where they were finally giving someone aside from their "old & slightly old guard" a legit push, we now have the potential of Batista Vs. Taker for the umpteenth time.
As much as I like them, Batista and Taker have been more banged up the last two years than they have been their entire careers, and because Punk makes a comment that I could guess was in no way a serious jab at their "golden boy" Cena, we have to endure them in the ring, not nearly at the same level they once were, as the main event feud of Smackdown.
Proof positive that the current incarnation of WWE is nothing but a popularity contest.

At the moment this is just a rumor. The way I see it, I believe Taker was going over Punk regardless. It's HIAC and it was the Undertaker vs CM Punk. That is the Undertaker's match, not many have went over him in that match so I didn't really see Punk doing it. It was just noted in the WWE magazine that Vince was pretty high on Punk and he did already have the belt multiple times and won big matches at WM. Just saying don't buy into the rumors until something is proven.
