Takedown returns from a previous segment with Jeff Heaven already in the ring. He wastes little time getting right to his reason for being there.
A few weeks ago, Ring Rage didn't exactly work out to well for me. But on the other hand, I want to send my personal shout outs to Tommy Tryton for finally breaking the mold. Yes, he's the new World Champion, but to some of us, him holding that belt means more then that. XWA's existed now three, going on four years. And in those three previous years, not just the World Title, but just about all the titles in XWA have been held by "home grown" talent. The World Title especially. Not that I have a problem with that fact, but I say it's about damn time some of us real vets started to get some air time. We might not be products of XWA's farm systems, and XWA might not be our 1st and only place of employment, but that doesn't mean at all that we should be held back for the sake of pushing those people here in XWA who come from it's minor leagues, as opposed to the free agents who came along to help make this place the best wrestling organization in the world.
But that's not the real reason I'm out here. You see, there's another work horse here in XWA that recently got his due. A guy who's been busting his ass from day one, and much like everyone else that busts their ass here, got looked over in favor of some of the more "marketable" talent. That guy just so happens to be a guy I don't exactly get along with, but that in no means implies I don't respect him. Hard not to respect a guy who kicked your ass on three different occasions. That man is the XWA Pure champion, Blade Myers.
There was mixed response from the crowd at the mention of Blade.
A lot of people question Blade's motives. Hell, I'm one of 'em. He's an enigma. One of the true dark horses in this company. But also has something I want. And that's the Pure Title. Now, I'm not out here to call you out to a title match at OTS, Blade. No no, I don't want it that easy. Before I challenge you for that belt, I need to challenge myself and see if I can do now, what I couldn't do back seven months ago. Beat you one on one. So tonight, let's make it interesting, eh? You and me. If I beat you, I get an ironclad shot at the title next week in Italy. If I don't? I'll take a number and step to the back of the line, because quite frankly if I can't beat you tonight, I've obviously not ready to be a champ 'round these parts yet. So what's it gonna be, Champ?
Jeff turns his attention to the stage in wait of Blade Myers.
