A Rough Start, But (O2A)

Matt Goldman: Welcome back to a sold out Madrid Arena, our final Take Down of the season and the last stop before 'Only The Strong'.

Buzz Berman: And what a show that is going to be. Rivalries are heating up and the entire roster is making that last desperate reach for the gold.

Matt Goldman: You've got that right, and how about the resurging Diamond Division?

Buzz Berman: How about it? I think it's great! It was no secret this division was in serious trouble. Their exclusive show was even put into moth balls. That's gotta hurt.

Matt Goldman: Give credit to the heads upstairs. They didn't give up on the division, they literally went across the globe to bring in new talent where ever they could find it.

Buzz Berman: And they didn't come back empty handed. Manami Kuroguchi, Vesper Gold, and Cyn Nister. They are going to keep the old guard, that kept this place going, busy.

At some point during this Diamond Revival conversation, the music of Okami Hawaito began to play and moments later she began to make her way to the ring in full costume. She touched the hands that were offered along the ramp.

Matt Goldman: Speaking of new Diamonds.

Buzz Berman: The White Wolf, Okami Hawaito. One of the New Joshi wave. But she's had a rough start here in the XWA.

Matt Goldman: Defeated in her own debut by Manami Kuroguchi and then pinned again by Vesper Gold in a triple Diamond threat.

Buzz Berman: That makes her low girl on the totem pole. But hey, she's got a good look about her and she don't make no excuses. She'll get there someday. Who knows, maybe tonight?

Matt Goldman: Maybe tonight is right, she looks ready to go. Who will she be facing?

Okami didn't get much microphone time yet. But just like the announcers and the crowd, she waited to see who her opponent would be. She waited for the music to play.

[alundra]

It would be a theme not heard in some two months.

Buzz: Now this is an interesting development.

Matt: Alundra Jade, who last week made her return to the XWA after two months out due to injury, stepping into the ring just a week before she faces the woman who took her out, Lakoda Rose. What's more interesting is the fact that it's well known that Alundra is one of Japan's most decorated female wrestlers. Heck, she lives in Japan. And she's out here to take on a fellow Joshi.

Buzz: We see how that worked out for Okami last time...

Alundra makes the walk down to the ring, and enters. Upon entering the ring, she respectfully bows to the younger Okami, then calls for a microphone.

In light of your last two matches since joining XWA, Okami...I come out here to humbly accept the task of facing you tonight, in a respectful contest. A contest not like what you were subjected to previously in your debut.

Once again, Alundra bows respectfully. She then hands off the mic to the PA announcer.

Matt: Talk about international appeal. We get to see two of Japan's finest female talents, one on one...live in Madrid, Spain.

Buzz: It's a wonder if Alundra's worked out the cobwebs yet. I mean, she had a concussion and 4 broken ribs from what I'd heard.

Matt: Look at her, Buzz. Tell me if she doesn't look ready to go. And it's not everyday we get to see a match between Diamonds who aren't at each others throats.

Buzz: Point taken.

Okami was shocked for a moment, or maybe it was awe to be standing in the same ring as Alundra Jade. She was not the flashiest and maybe she was not the biggest name ever, but Jade~san was one of the few remaining and most respected workers in the business they shared. She had watched many, many matches of the former Onyx Champion during her own training not so many years ago.

Okami applauded with the crowd as Jade~san finished speaking: simple and straight to the point. Almost apologetically, The White Wolf took the microphone from the PA announcer. She turned towards Alundra Jade and bowed very low, showing her respect and position beneath her.

"With respect, I do accept Jade~san. Let us show these great people of Madrid the art you and I have devoted our lives to. I will do my best for you and them."

Okami bowed again and handed the microphone back to the PA announcer. The European crowd applauded honestly. The Europeans were more like the Japanese crowds of home than the Americans. They could enjoy a pure wrestling exhibition for what it was. They didn't need the explosive emotionalism and drama that the American audience fed on ravenously.

Matt: This should be a very interesting match between the old and the new Japan.

Buzz: But unfortunately for Okami the competition is getting even more intense. From two relative new comers to one of the most experienced women on the active roster? She's going to need to bring her best game and maybe borrow a few from somebody else.

Matt: Well, I'm looking forward to what promises to be an excellent display of the Japanese Joshi style and by the sound of it, so are these fans.

Buzz: We can agree on that much. These Joshi girls can and do bring it every single night. No excuses and no holding back. Hell, now you're getting me excited. Let's do this thing.
