So, I'm new to the RP game - this is in fact my first foray into it - and i was hoping for some advice and feedback from the wealth of experience in the XWA. Cody's thread about making a rounded character has answered lots of the questions i was going to ask here (thanks for that), so bascially it comes down to what can i do to RP Chris better? His last promo was supposed to be the start of a slight character shakeup for him, but i was looking for feedback on what i need to improve to make my RPing, and his character better.
Grateful for any advice or thoughts...

When you have a character that obviously has potential like Chris does (He did win the Pure Title after all) but hasn't lived up to that potential, that's one of the best characters to develop. Because he's already seen or is in the middle of a rut in his career. That's ample chance for you to show your range. Anyone can RP a character that wins all the time. Not everyone can RP a character that doesn't. Play to Chris' record some. Make it so that he knows he's underachieving, but still believes he's the best thing going. But there's a balance to that. Just blowing off the fact that you've lost so much does the character no good. Acknowledging your character's shortcomings IC, and turning them into strengths will do you much better. The cocky heel underdog is rarely done, and even more rarely is it done well. Make it so that he remains a total tool, despite the fact that he knows chances are he's going to get his ass kicked. And in the event he doesn't get his ass kicked and actually wins, don't go throwing it in the other character's face. The high road is always the best road, especially when building up a new character.
