As TakeDown returns from a break ‘Ace of Spades’ sounds throughout the arena to announce the arrival of Chris Dynamite. Appearing on the stage he looks around at the audience with a cocked eyebrow for a moment before striding to the ring.
Goldman: Well here is the man who failed to reclaim the Pure Title at Ring Rage,
BuZz: Yep, not been quite the debut year he might have wanted for himself.
Goldman: And it doesn’t look like he’s getting much of a home town welcome from this crowd either
Dynamite climbs into the ring, snatches the mic off the announcer and pauses in the centre of the ring. He takes a deep breath in, then raises his mic to speak,
Can you feel that? A return to the city where I grew up, the city where I made my name, and something has changed! You see I learned something from Blade Myers, hell I’ve been learning the same lesson over and over since I started here, but now it’s finally stuck! As I lay in the ring at the end of Ring Rage, still battered from a handicap match and an assault, my ribs aching and my head throbbing, there was only one thing I could hear; the little voice in my head which said ‘You’ve been punked!’ And it made me realise something, all year I’ve been talking about showmanship, about being the single most charismatic human being to stand in a wrestling ring. A Human Highlight. But all year I failed to see that I’d lost something. I thought I was doing the punking, but I was the punk! It used to be me that always had the answers, always had the cheap shot, could always get away with it…
the crowd begin to boo and jeer as some remember Chris’ history in the city,
Jeez, I sold out this arena with people coming to see what stunt I’d pull next, or people desperate to see me shut up. So what happened? I changed, I didn’t evolve, I sold out! I moved to the big leagues and I began to doubt. I took a stage name, I tried to do what I’ve always done, but there was something missing, it just wasn’t quite me. So in this age of celebrities real lives, and reality TV allow me to inject a little reality to proceedings here. For the few idiots who hadn’t figured it out no my name is not Chris Dynamite, I stole that from a legend of the business, my name is Chris McQueen – but it didn’t seem as easy to get over with that name. I won’t pretend to respect or bow to establishment and its stars, because for the most part they’re out-dated and ridiculous. I experience moments and greatness that most of you only dream of, I live the high life that all of you read about, and dream about while sat at your dead end desk job, staring at a bland monitor. And even though you may not like me, you may mock me, I can promise you that each and every one of you would give your right arm to be me for one fleeting moment. Why should I pretend to be what you and the business wants? You all paid to see me, and you will do so again and again and again… You can’t shut me up, you can’t bring me down, and you can’t make me doubt, because I am simply untouchable!
He pauses in the ring for a moment, smirking and soaking in the crowd reaction
So now you’ve all had your glimpse, I think my work here is done. Remember this moment, savour it, because it won’t come again.
Goldman: Woah, quite the tirade from Chris Dynamite, or McQueen, whatever he’s calling himself.
BuZz: Mmmm, it looks like Blade may have knocked a new attitude into the kid…
*open to interruption, or leave as a promo*
